In Loving Memory of Stella Kathleen Low Stella K. Low, a cherished soul who brought light and laughter to all who knew her, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2026, surrounded by love at Ladara Center in Albuquerque, NM. Born on April 16, 1934, in a quaint town of Sudbury, England, Stella was the beloved daughter of Fredrick Albert and Kathleen Louie Hammond. Stella's journey was a tapestry woven with rich experiences and heartfelt connections. She became a proud U.S. citizen shortly after coming to the United States in 1954, embracing her new homeland with open arms and a joyful heart. Her English accent, always accompanied by a cheerful "Allo," became a signature greeting that never failed to bring smiles. In her early years, Stella met and married the love of her life, Donald K. Low. Together, they embarked on a life of adventure, sharing their journey with the U.S. Air Force. Their travels took them to distant places, including the Philippines, where they created memories that would last a lifetime. Stella had a son Fredrick from a previous marriage, who passed away in 1999. Donald adopted Fred and was a nurturing father to him. They both played guitars and enjoyed music together. Stella's legacy is carried on by her loving granddaughter, Jennifer Woodley, and her loving daughter-in-law, Naomi Low, of Fresno, CA. She cherished her family deeply and found a dear friend, Jody Skelton, with whom she shared a home for over 15 years. Together they traveled to see Jean Piercy, Stella's sister in Canada. A woman of many talents, Stella was an avid craftswoman, finding joy in creating ceramics, jewelry, and intricate jigsaw puzzles. Her flower garden was a testament to her nurturing spirit and love for beauty. Stella's contributions to her community were significant, as she played a pivotal role in establishing the La Merced Moose Lodge in Rio Communities, New Mexico, where she served as the first Senior Regent. Stella's vibrant spirit and dedication to others left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered. Her warmth, generosity, and zest for life will be fondly remembered and greatly missed. In celebrating the life of Stella Low, we remember her as a beacon of joy, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of those she touched.
