Stella Castillo
January 31, 1965 — March 8, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the peaceful passing of Stella Castillo, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, on March 8, 2026. She left this world in the comfort of her home, surrounded by the love that she so generously gave throughout her 61 years.
Born on January 31, 1965, in the charming town of Fowler, California, Stella was the cherished daughter of the late Lupe and Margaret Cortez. She was predeceased by her beloved parents, who instilled in her the values of kindness, resilience, and love that she carried throughout her life.
Stella's legacy is lovingly carried forward by her devoted husband of 35 years, Frank, with whom she shared a beautiful journey since their marriage on May 12, 1990. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Francisco and Teresa, whose lives are a testament to Stella's love and dedication as a mother. Her family expanded with joy and pride with the addition of her son-in-law Wayne II, and her precious grandchildren, Alicia and Wayne III, who brought immense joy to Stella's life and whom she cherished beyond measure.
For many years, Stella dedicated her professional life to nurturing young minds as a preschool teacher for Fresno County EOC Head Start. Her work was more than a career; it was her calling. She touched the lives of countless children and families with her warmth, patience, and unwavering belief in the potential of every child.
Stella's life was a tapestry woven with a love for travel, often accompanied by her husband Frank, her sister Sylvia, and brother-in-law Al. Together, they shared adventures and created memories that will be cherished forever. Yet, it was in her role as a grandmother that Stella truly shone. Her grandchildren, Alicia and Wayne III, were the light of her life, and she embraced every opportunity to spoil them with love and affection.
Stella was a beacon of loyalty and devotion, known for her smile that could light up any room. Her family and friends will forever remember her as a woman of great strength and immense heart, a mother who loved fiercely and a grandmother whose joy was found in the laughter of her grandchildren.
As we bid farewell to Stella, we hold onto the beautiful memories she leaves behind and the indelible mark she made on all who were fortunate to know her. Her spirit will continue to guide and inspire those she loved most.
A celebration of Stella's life will be held at a later date, where family and friends can gather to honor her memory and share in the stories of her remarkable journey. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Fresno County EOC Head Start, in Stella’s memory, to continue her legacy of nurturing and educating young minds.
Stella Castillo's life was a testament to love, kindness, and the enduring bonds of family. She will be profoundly missed and forever cherished in our hearts.
