Stanley Lee Wood

February 13, 1944 — June 9, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Stanley Lee Wood on June 9, 2026. Born on February 13, 1944, in the quaint town of Winnemucca, Nevada, Stan was a cherished son to the late Martin and Nina Wood. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose legacy will continue to inspire all who knew him. Stan's journey through life was marked by his unwavering dedication to family, faith, and community. Preceded in death by his loving parents, sister Irene, and brothers Ernest and Edward, he is survived by his adoring wife of 22 years, Cindi, who lovingly cared for him at their home near Sunrise Mountain by the LDS Las Vegas Temple. Stan's teachings and love are carried forward by his children: daughters Yvette (and husband John Bedford), Yvonne (and husband Mark Howder), Jacille (and husband Chad Wilson), and his son Jared (and wife Tricia). He was also a father figure to his deceased stepsons Jeffrey and Bruce Thorsen. His legacy lives on in his 17 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish the lessons and love he imparted. A man of diverse talents and passions, Stan attended college and barber school, owning a successful barber shop for 18 years in Old Hangtown Placerville, California. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to various ventures, from owning a piece of the Rock with Prudential Insurance to selling Lufkin Water Filters, and eventually, becoming a part of Herbalife International, thanks to the introduction by his dear friend, Monty Skinner. Stan's life was enriched by his faith as an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Alongside Cindi, he served a meaningful 18-month mission in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia in 2014, where they taught English and shared their faith with warmth and kindness. A natural athlete, Stan excelled in basketball, baseball, softball, golf, bowling, and volleyball. His passion for sports was matched only by his joy in playing recreational volleyball well into his 60s. Beyond his athletic prowess, Stan's life path was guided by his profound commitment to helping others improve their lives, a testament to his nurturing spirit as a life path 6. Stan's family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to all who shared in his journey, offering opportunities, support, and friendship through life's trials and triumphs. They are eternally grateful for the thoughts and prayers from those who walked alongside Stan in his remarkable life. As we bid farewell to Stan, we find solace in the love he shared and the indelible mark he left on our hearts. His legacy of kindness, perseverance, and community will continue to guide us as we celebrate his life and the joy he brought into the world. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Stan by extending a helping hand to someone in need, just as he would have done. Details of a celebration of life will be shared at a later date, where we will gather to remember and rejoice in the extraordinary life of Stanley Lee Wood.
