In Loving Memory

St Christopher Joel Gray
December 1, 1968 — May 29, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of St. Christopher Joel Gray, who left this world suddenly on May 29, 2026. Born in the vibrant landscapes of Jamaica, Christopher's life was a testament to love, dedication, and unwavering commitment to family and craft. He was a beacon of joy and strength to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Christopher was the beloved son of Joyce Gray and the late Winston Gray, who preceded him in death. He was a devoted father to Cierra, Porscha, and Raheem, and a cherished grandfather to five wonderful grandchildren: Janae, Janiyah, Aneesah, Halo, and Carrera. The pride he took in his family was evident in every aspect of his life, as he found immense joy in their presence and accomplishments.
In addition to his immediate family, Christopher leaves behind his loving mother, Joyce Gray; his siblings Winston, Jennifer, Carlene, Rodney, and Curtis; sisters-in-law Griselda and Connie; brothers-in-law Junior and Tom; and a host of nieces and nephews, including Nigel, Brittany, Brianna, Kyle, Isaiah, Blake, and Samara. His family was his world, and he was the heart of theirs. He is also fondly remembered by his longtime friend and companion, Melanie, whose companionship brought him much joy and comfort.
Christopher was a talented carpenter, admired not only for his exceptional craftsmanship but also for his attention to detail and ability to transform ideas into reality. His work was more than just a profession; it was a passion that allowed him to touch the lives of many. Whether building a piece of furniture or repairing a family home, Christopher's dedication and skill left an indelible mark on the lives and spaces he shaped.
A passionate sports enthusiast, Christopher was an ardent fan of the Dallas Cowboys and loved nothing more than engaging in spirited discussions about basketball and football. His enthusiasm for sports was infectious, and he created lasting memories with loved ones through shared celebrations and friendly debates.
Above all, Christopher will be remembered for his caring nature, generous spirit, and the unwavering love he had for his family. His greatest happiness was found in the laughter and stories shared with those he held dear. Though he has left this world, his legacy of love and kindness will endure in the hearts of all who knew him.
A service to celebrate Christopher's life will be held on June 4, 2026, at 6:00 PM at Woody Home For Services, located at 163 Oakwood Ave, Orange, NJ 07050. The family welcomes all who wish to honor his memory and pay their respects.
In the words of his family: "Dad, thank you for your love, your guidance, and the countless memories you gave us all. Family was everything to you, and your presence will be missed every day. We take comfort in knowing that your love and lessons will continue to live on through us. Rest peacefully until we meet again."
Christopher Joel Gray may be gone from our sight, but he will forever remain in our hearts. May he rest in eternal peace.
