Sophia was the treasured daughter of the late John Todd, with whom she shared a profound bond. Though her family was small, her heart was immeasurably large, encompassing her many friends and loved ones who became her chosen family. Sophia Campbell never married, but she filled her life with adventures, laughter, and love, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those fortunate enough to know her. A proud graduate of Bishop Garcia Diego High School, class of 1979, Sophia carried the values of her education into a dedicated career as a TSA agent. For 20 years, she served with diligence and a heartwarming smile that made even the busiest travelers feel at ease. Her colleagues remember her not only as a consummate professional but also as a bright light in their daily routines. Outside of her work, Sophia was a true adventurer at heart. Her passion for kayaking brought her endless joy, as she never missed an opportunity to paddle across the serene waters of California’s rivers and coastline. She was also an enthusiastic hiker, frequently found trekking up to the Montecito Hot Springs in the Los Padres National Forest, where she found peace and inspiration amidst nature's splendor. Sophia's warm personality and vivid smile were her trademarks, lighting up every room she entered and every heart she touched. Her kindness, generosity, and unyielding spirit were a source of comfort and joy to all who knew her. She lived her life with an open heart, inspiring others to embrace the beauty and adventure that life offers each day. A private funeral service to honor Sophia's life will be held on February 27, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Hope Santa Barbara Church, located at 2255 Modoc Road. While the ceremony will be intimate, her spirit and legacy will be celebrated by all who knew her, in their own special ways. Though Sophia's journey on this earth has concluded, her spirit will continue to guide those who loved her. In every sunrise over the ocean and in every gentle breeze through the trees, we will feel her presence and remember the joy she brought into our lives.
