Sonya's siblings, Susanna, Sylvia, and Antonio, remember her as a loving sister whose warmth and wisdom touched their lives deeply. She was also a devoted aunt to many nieces and nephews, and her extended family of cherished cousins and friends will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
For many years, Sonya dedicated her career to advocating for others as a Patient Rights Ombudsman at the Arizona State Hospital. Her commitment to justice and empathy for those in need was evident in her work, where she was a trusted confidante and a fierce protector of patient rights. She retired having made a lasting impact on many lives, both within and beyond the walls of the hospital.
Sonya was a rock for everyone around her, always ready to listen without judgment and offer comfort, guidance, and support. Her open heart and caring hands were a source of strength and solace to all who knew her. Her ability to see the good in every situation and her unwavering dedication to helping others were hallmarks of her character.
