It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories that we announce the passing of Son, who departed this world peacefully at home on April 5, 2026, at the age of 38. Born on November 5, 1987, in Decatur, Illinois, Son brought warmth and light to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Son was a beloved son, father, brother, and friend. He is survived by his cherished daughter, Teddie Alleyne Risley, and her mother, Stevi Brinkley. They were the light of his life and will carry his legacy forward with grace and love. He is also survived by his devoted mother, Pamela Harper, and her partner, Greg Clark, who provided unwavering support and love throughout his journey. His siblings, Stacie Word (Jeremy), Austin Andres, Jeremy Clark (Stephanie), and Jessica Clark, along with numerous nieces and nephews, will forever hold his memory close to their hearts. Grant, Gage, and Gabbie Word, Roxanne Clark and Avery Smith, along with Deondra, Calvin, and Callie Cook, will continue to feel the warmth of his spirit in their lives.
Son was predeceased by his father, Jerry Risley, and his beloved maternal grandparents, Frank and Anita Andres, as well as his paternal grandparents, Bill and Flossie Risley, who have undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms.
Throughout his career at A.M.H Farm Equipment in Monticello, Son earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues and friends. His dedication to his work and the relationships he built were a testament to his character and integrity. He approached each day with quiet strength, leaving an indelible mark on those around him.
Beyond his professional life, Son's true passion lay in the bonds he nurtured with his family and friends. He was a man of few words but immense love, always offering a listening ear and a comforting presence to those who needed it most. His hobbies and interests reflected his deep appreciation for life's simple pleasures, and his gentle spirit was a source of solace for many.
Son's passing leaves a void in our hearts that can never be filled, but his memory will live on in the stories we share and the love we continue to give. As we gather to celebrate his life, we are reminded of the impact he had on all of us, teaching us to cherish each moment and hold our loved ones close.
A private service will be held for family and close friends, honoring Son's wishes for a quiet and intimate farewell. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Son's name to a charity of your choice, spreading kindness and support in his memory.
Son's journey on this earth may have ended, but his legacy of love, strength, and kindness will forever guide us. Rest peacefully, dear Son, knowing you were deeply loved and will never be forgotten.
