It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the untimely passing of Soli Tanielu, a beloved partner, father, son, and brother, who left this world far too soon on April 20, 2026, at the age of 41. Soli's life was tragically cut short in a car accident, leaving a void that will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved him.
Born on November 25, 1984, in the serene village of Faga'alu LBJ, Pago Pago, American Samoa, Soli was the cherished son of Soli and Na'otala Tanielu. He was preceded in death by his father, Soli Tanielu, and his brother, Peter Tanielu, whose memories he treasured dearly throughout his life.
Soli was a man of great warmth and kindness, known for his unwavering devotion to his family. He shared his life with his loving partner of 17 years, Phileite Cynthia Ioane, whom he married on September 8, 2008. Together, they built a beautiful family, blessed with three wonderful children: Jezrahiah Tina Ioane, Jezmine Naotala Tanielu, and Ma'opu Jacinta Tanielu and Jarius Peter Tanielu. Soli was a devoted father who reveled in the joys of parenthood, guiding his children with love, wisdom, and strength.
A proud graduate of Tafuna High School in Pago Pago, American Samoa, Class of 2002, Soli was remembered by classmates and teachers alike for his brilliant mind and generous spirit. He carried these traits with him throughout his life, touching the lives of many with his warmth and compassion.
Soli's siblings, Faaui, Fetaomi, Moana, Osotonu, Mika, and Fuala'au, each held a special place in his heart. Together, they shared an unbreakable bond, supporting one another through life's challenges and celebrating its many joys. Soli's laughter and love will be dearly missed at family gatherings, where his presence was always a source of joy and comfort.
Soli's legacy is one of love, kindness, and selflessness. He lived his life with integrity and an unwavering commitment to those he loved. His gentle spirit and generous heart will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. As we mourn his passing, we also celebrate a life well-lived, cherishing the memories that will forever remain in our hearts.
A service to honor Soli's life will be held at a later date, allowing family and friends to gather and pay tribute to the remarkable person he was. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity close to Soli's heart, ensuring his legacy of kindness continues.
