It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for her life that we celebrate the peaceful passing of Dona Rickman Blondet, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, on September 30, 2025, in Hickory, North Carolina. Born on July 1, 1959, in Salem, Ohio, Dona was a beacon of love and support to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Dona was the cherished daughter of the late Karl Rickman and Adele Bertram, and stepfather, the late Jim Bertram. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Robert Blondet, her sister Jannette, and her twin brother Don, who all surely welcomed her with open arms into eternal peace. A devoted mother, Dona is survived by her son, Robert Blondet, and his wife, Sakeena. She leaves behind a legacy of love in her grandchildren, Robert, Raelynn, and Yara Blondet, who were the light of her life. Her sisters, Lois Barker and Lynnette Moretz, and her brothers, Karl and Desi Rickman, will forever cherish her memory. Dona's family extends to numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews, who will always remember her warmth and kindness. Dona pursued her passion for caregiving by graduating from Hannah Mullins Nursing School in her hometown of Salem, Ohio. She dedicated over 40 years of her life to nursing, a testament to her selfless nature and unwavering commitment to the well-being of others. Her professional life was marked by compassion and dedication, providing care and comfort to countless individuals. Beyond her professional achievements, Dona's life was a testament to devotion and selflessness. Her world revolved around providing for her son and grandchildren, always putting their needs before her own. Her home was a sanctuary for family and friends alike, a place where love and support were abundant. She was known for her open heart, always ready to lend a hand or offer a word of encouragement. Dona's spirit of generosity and warmth touched the lives of many, and her legacy of love will continue to inspire all who knew her. Her passing leaves a void in our hearts, but we take solace in the memories of her unwavering kindness and the love she shared so freely. A celebration of Dona's life will be held on July 1, 2026, at 6:00 PM at Steelecreek Church, located on Arrowood Road. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of a remarkable woman who lived her life with grace and compassion. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Dona's memory to a charity of your choice, as a tribute to her generous spirit and her lifelong commitment to helping others.
