silas jack

July 2, 2008 — April 14, 2026

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Silas Jack, who departed from this world on April 14, 2026, at the tender age of 17. Born in the vibrant town of Spearfish, South Dakota, on July 2, 2008, Silas was a beacon of light and warmth whose presence touched the lives of all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Silas was the cherished son of Brandon Davis and the late Stephanie Sievek. His departure follows closely behind the heartbreaking loss of his boyfriend, whose absence left a void in Silas's life too profound to bear. Silas's heart, full of love and longing, ultimately succumbed to the weight of his grief, a testament to the depth and sincerity of his affection. Though young, Silas lived his life with a vibrancy and authenticity that inspired those around him. He was known for his super cool and awesome personality, always wearing his heart on his sleeve and encouraging others to embrace their true selves. His passion for music, particularly his love for My Chemical Romance, was a soundtrack to his life, and he found solace and expression in their melodies and lyrics. Silas was also a fervent supporter of the transgender community, advocating for acceptance and equality with unwavering dedication. In his short life, Silas was on the cusp of achieving a significant milestone—his high school graduation. Though he did not have the opportunity to don cap and gown, his intellectual curiosity and zest for learning were evident to all who knew him. Silas's academic journey was marked by creativity, humor, and a genuine interest in the world around him. Silas's absence will be profoundly felt by his father, Brandon, and by the countless friends and family members who had the privilege of sharing in his journey. His spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him, a constant reminder of the joy and love he brought into the world. As we remember Silas, we honor a life lived with sincerity and passion, a young soul who defied convention and embraced individuality. May we carry forward his legacy by celebrating diversity, showing kindness, and loving unapologetically. A memorial service to celebrate Silas's life will be held at a later date, where family and friends are invited to share memories and honor his beautiful spirit. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to organizations supporting mental health and LGBTQ+ youth, in keeping with Silas's enduring advocacy and compassion. Rest in peace, dear Silas. Though your time with us was brief, your impact is everlasting. You are loved beyond measure and will be forever missed.
