April 30, 1946 — June 7, 2026

Sidney Jayne Eve, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2026, at the age of 80. Born on April 30, 1946, in Raton, New Mexico, Sidney was the cherished daughter of the late Viola White and Joe McDade. Her life was a testament to love, creativity, and the warmth she extended to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Sidney's journey of love began when she married Robert Hamer on March 2, 1966, in Amarillo, Texas. Together, they built a life rich with love, laughter, and happiness, raising three beautiful children. Though Robert preceded her in death, their shared legacy of family and love continues to thrive in the lives of their children: James Hamer and his wife Anne of Waxahachie, Texas, Robert Hamer of El Paso, Texas, and Noelle Campbell and her husband Greg of Aurora, Colorado. Sidney found love again and married James Eve, her devoted partner who survives her. Sidney's heart was further enriched by her six grandchildren—Kristen Blank, Mariah Blank, Dillon Blank, Ashley Petcol, Jayton Ferry and his wife Chloe, and Cade Ferry—and her six great-grandchildren, Jaydon, Mireya, Cruz, Mason, Breydon, and Kashis, each of whom brought immense joy to her life. Sidney's career was as vibrant as her spirit. She worked alongside her mother in the family jewelry store, where she not only learned the trade but also honed her artistic talents. A gifted artist, Sidney painted and sold stunning oil paintings that captured the beauty she saw in the world. Her talents extended to sewing and quilting, creating cherished pieces that were as beautiful as they were functional. Passionate about her garden, Sidney found peace and joy in tending to her flowers and plants, a testament to her nurturing spirit. An amazing cook, Sidney's kitchen was always filled with the comforting aroma of home-cooked meals, a testament to her love for family gatherings and celebrations. A published author, Sidney's words touched many, reflecting her deep understanding of life and human nature. Yet, it was her personal qualities that left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Sidney had a unique gift for making everyone feel welcome, a warmth that resonated with her Christian faith and the way she lived her life by example rather than words. Sidney is also survived by her siblings, Sue Cardinal, Mary Ann Fruits, Johnny White, Linda Houston, Kym Campbell, and Jody McDade. Her extended family and close friends, too numerous to name, held a special place in her heart, each one touched by her kindness and generosity. As her family reflects on the joy and love Sidney brought into their lives, they offer this heartfelt message: "Sidney will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Forever in our hearts." A celebration of Sidney's life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor a remarkable woman whose legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire all who knew her. Rest in peace, dear Sidney. Your memory will forever be a blessing to us all.
