Born on October 3, 1953, in Dayton, Ohio, Shirlie was a beacon of warmth and kindness to all who knew her. She valiantly battled a long illness with grace and courage, and she will forever be remembered for her unwavering strength and gentle spirit.
Shirlie was the beloved daughter of the late James and Mary Lane, who instilled in her the values of compassion, resilience, and generosity that she carried throughout her life. She is predeceased by her cherished parents, whose memories she held close to her heart.
She is survived by her devoted daughter, Mary Stacy, who was the light of Shirlie's life. Shirlie was also the proud grandmother to three grandchildren and a great-grandmother to ten great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy and pride to her days. Her legacy of love and kindness will undoubtedly live on through them.
Shirlie shared a beautiful chapter of her life with her dear partner, Gary Gordan. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and memories that will be treasured forever by their family and friends.
Family, friends, and all who were touched by Shirlie's kindness are invited to celebrate her life at a service to be held on July 18, 2026, at 10:00 AM. The service will take place at Woodland Cemetery, located at 26 Woodland Dr., Dayton, Ohio, 45410. It will be a time to honor Shirlie's remarkable life and the profound impact she had on those around her.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, in memory of Shirlie Lane. This gesture of generosity reflects the spirit of giving that Shirlie embraced throughout her lifetime.
