In Loving Memory

Shirlie Ann Lane
October 3, 1958 — October 16, 2026
In loving memory of Shirlie Ann Lane, who passed away peacefully on October 16, 2026, at the age of 68, after bravely battling the effects of several strokes. Shirlie was born on October 3, 1958, in Dayton, Ohio, to her beloved parents, James and Mary Lane, who preceded her in death, along with her dear brother.
Shirlie's life was a testament to love, resilience, and dedication. She devoted 30 years to a fulfilling career at General Motors, where her hard work and determination left an indelible mark. Yet, her true passions lay in the warmth of her home, where she cultivated a love for cooking, gardening, and creating beautiful arts and crafts. Her creations were more than mere expressions of art; they were manifestations of her love and generosity, shared with family and friends.
Her legacy continues through her cherished daughter, Mary Ruth Ann Stacy, and her loving partner of 20 years, Gary Gordan, who stood by her side through life's joys and challenges. Shirlie is also survived by her two devoted sisters, Flora Mattingly and Lora Lane, and her two brothers, John Lane and David Lane, who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts. Her family was her greatest pride and joy, and she was blessed with three grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, whose lives she enriched with her love and wisdom.
A service to celebrate Shirlie's life will be held on October 23, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the family cemetery located at 6655 Farmersville West Carrollton Rd. It will be a time for family and friends to come together in remembrance of a remarkable woman whose kindness and warmth touched everyone she met.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association in Dallas, TX, in memory of Shirlie's courageous battle and in support of a cause close to her heart.
Shirlie Ann Lane will forever be remembered for her unwavering love, her gentle spirit, and the beautiful legacy she leaves behind. She will be profoundly missed but never forgotten by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
