With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Shirley Solomon, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Shirley departed this world on July 9, 2026, at the age of 63, due to complications from surgery. Born on November 14, 1962, in Mansfield, Ohio, Shirley was a beacon of warmth and kindness to all who knew her.
Shirley was the beloved daughter of the late Lee Ester Anderson and Jeff Adam Ringold. She was predeceased by her loving daughters Tanisha Anderson and Donna Anderson, as well as her siblings James Ringold, Alvin Ringold, Lee Ringold, Jeffery Ringold, David Anderson, Kevin R. Ringold, Bobby Anderson, Ruthie M. Anderson, and Myrna King.
Her legacy lives on through her devoted husband, Joseph Solomon, and their son, Bryant, along with his wife TaNeisha. Shirley was the proud grandmother of six grandchildren: Shyanna, Bryant Jr., Daphanie, Juian, Bryce, and Bryelle, and the delighted great-grandmother of Brandon and Iziyah. She is also survived by her siblings Laurel and her spouse Desree, Margie, Arnald, Carlos, William, Kevin, and Albert, as well as a large and loving extended family of nieces, nephews, and friends who will carry her memory in their hearts.
Shirley was a graduate of Denby High School and went on to dedicate 15 years of service to the City of Detroit. Her career path later led her to work in transportation for the Oak Park School District, and she found fulfillment in providing home health care, reflecting her boundless compassion and generosity.
A woman of many interests, Shirley found joy in the simplest pleasures of life. She delighted in cooking and sharing meals with her family, traveling to new places, and knitting. Her love for games was evident in her enthusiasm for Bingo and occasional visits to the casino. Shirley's kindness was her hallmark; her gentle spirit and welcoming smile were always present. She was truly a light in the lives of those around her, offering help and comfort to anyone in need.
In remembrance of Shirley's generous spirit, the family kindly suggests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in her honor.
As we gather to celebrate Shirley's life, let us remember her for the love, joy, and warmth she brought into our lives. Her legacy is one of selflessness and enduring love, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her. Shirley will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to inspire us all.
