Shirley Jean Pruitt
January 3, 1959 — March 10, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life beautifully lived that we announce the passing of Shirley Jean Pruitt, a beacon of love and strength in our family, who departed this world on March 10, 2026, at the age of 67. Shirley passed away peacefully, enveloped by the love of her family, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, compassion, and faith.
Born on January 3, 1959, in the close-knit community of Marion Junction, AL, Shirley was the cherished daughter of Beulah Riggs. Raised in a home filled with love alongside her brothers Robert, Johnell, and AG Briggs, Shirley's upbringing was rooted in strong family values and an enduring faith that would guide her throughout her life.
Shirley's life was a testament to her unwavering devotion to her family and her faith. She married the love of her life, William "Bill" Pruitt, and together they built a life rich with love, laughter, and shared dreams. Though Bill preceded her in death, their love story continues to inspire all who knew them. Shirley's heart was further enriched by her role as a devoted mother to her beloved children: sons William Lynn Pruitt and Jeremy Dewayne Pruitt, and daughters Michelle Dalton, along with her husband Brandon, and Alisa Ann Seiber. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her greatest joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
A woman of deep faith, Shirley was an ordained minister and dedicated member of New Hope Holiness. Her commitment to her spiritual community was evident in her joyful participation in church activities, particularly her love for singing hymns alongside her husband, Bill. Her voice, full of grace and devotion, was a source of comfort and inspiration to many.
Shirley's passions were as diverse as they were heartfelt. She found immense peace and joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as casting a line into the water on a quiet fishing day or creating beautiful, intricate designs with her crochet needle. These hobbies, along with her unwavering faith, provided solace and a sense of purpose throughout her life.
Shirley was predeceased by several cherished family members, including her mother, brothers, mother-in-law, father-in-law, and in-laws, whose memories she held dear. Despite these losses, she remained a source of strength and love for her surviving family, who will continue to honor her memory in their hearts and lives.
As we say goodbye to Shirley, we celebrate the remarkable woman she was—a devoted wife, loving mother, doting grandmother, and faithful servant of the Lord. Her warmth, wisdom, and boundless love will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
A service to honor Shirley's life will be held at New Hope Holiness, where family and friends will gather to remember the joy and love she brought into their lives. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity close to Shirley's heart, in support of continued acts of love and kindness in her memory.
Rest in peace, dear Shirley, in the embrace of the Lord you cherished so dearly. Your legacy of love will live on in the hearts of all who knew you.
