It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Shirley J. Dorr, who departed this world peacefully at his home on May 4, 2026, after a courageous battle with Parkinson's. Born on October 17, 1965, in Brewer, Shirley lived a life filled with love, laughter, and resilience, touching the hearts of all who knew him.
Shirley was the eldest son of Kenneth Dorr Sr. and the late Donna Dorr, loved deeply by his brothers Kenneth Dorr Jr, Patrick Dorr and Ryan Dorr.
A dedicated employee, Shirley worked as a foreman at Roof Systems of Maine for over 20 years. Known for his unwavering work ethic and leadership, he was admired and respected by colleagues and friends alike. Shirley's commitment to his work was matched only by his devotion to his family and friends.
He is survived by his brothers Ryan Dorr and Kenneth Dorr Jr., he kept his brothers close to him with gifts they had given him and endless family pictures. His nieces Kendra Moulton and Desiree Vaughan who cared deeply for their Uncle. His loving girlfriend Kris Thurston who stood by his side no matter what with unconditional love. His daughter Renee Dorr whom has countless cherished memories of a loving father who stopped at nothing to see her smile. His son in law Alexander Giroux who spent hours laughing with him and making him feel like his true self again. And lastly his four grandchildren Lilly, Emma, Blaze, and Nevaeh, who never failed to make their Bumpy smile.
Shirley was predeceased by his mother, Donna Dorr, his brother, Patrick Dorr, and his dear friend, Ralph Greenleaf.
He is so dearly missed, but his family takes solace in knowing he no longer is trapped, he is free.
