Shirley’s life was a testament to love, family, and community. She grew up in a loving household, sharing her childhood with her cherished siblings, Mary and Antony. After graduating from Winder Barrow High School, Shirley embarked on a journey that would see her touch countless lives with her kindness and unwavering spirit.
In the summer of 1969, Shirley married the love of her life, James Moore, in a beautiful ceremony in Ohio. Together, they shared an extraordinary partnership of 48 years, raising three wonderful children. Shirley and James were not only a couple but also best friends, nurturing a family filled with laughter, love, and countless memories.
Shirley was the proud mother of Dennis Hall, and her legacy lives on through him and her precious grandchildren, including her granddaughter Zakeria Hall and Kai Mins, along with five others. Her family continued to grow with the arrival of four great-grandchildren, each bringing immense joy to her heart.
Shirley’s warmth extended beyond her immediate family, as she embraced her role as a pillar of her community. Her nurturing spirit, infectious smile, and genuine compassion for others made her a beloved friend and confidante to many. She was an active member of the St. Luke Church of God in Christ in Chicago, where her faith was a guiding light in her life.
A service to celebrate Shirley's life will be held on March 11, 2026, at 8:00 AM at the St. Luke Church of God in Christ, located at 914 N Orleans St, Chicago, IL 60610. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to everyone who has offered their support, shared memories, and surrounded them with love during this difficult time.
