Shirley Clem Pearson Stringer

Shirley Clem Pearson Stringer, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on September 17, 2026, at the age of 92. Born on November 24, 1933, in West Frankfort (Cedar Hill), Illinois, Shirley was the beloved daughter of Carroll and Clara "Evelyn" (Willis) Clem. Shirley's life was a testament to her devotion to family and faith. She graduated from Thompsonville High School in 1950 and shortly thereafter, on August 9, 1952, she married the love of her life Edmond Pearson, beginning a beautiful partnership that lasted 27 years until Edmond's passing on December 4, 1979. Together, they shared a passion for antiquing and restoring antique furniture, an interest that brought them joy and deepened their bond over the years. A dedicated homemaker and mother, Shirley found immense fulfillment in caring for her family. Her home was always filled with warmth, love, and the comforting aroma of her exceptional cooking, particularly her famous pies and cakes. Her quick wit and warm smile were known to all who met her, and she was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. A woman of deep faith, Shirley was an active member of several Baptist Churches throughout her life. She found solace and strength in reading her Bible and participating in church activities, which were a cornerstone of her life. Her faith was matched only by her love for her family, which she held dearest to her heart. Shirley is lovingly remembered by her son, Kevin L. Pearson (Terri), and daughters, Cindy Juceam (Michael) and Carol Davis. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Jason Ezell, Bonnie and Ben Davis, and Dena Rae Walter, along with her three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Shirley is also survived by her siblings, Ivan 'Neal' Clem (Sharon) and Susan Guerra (Joe). She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Edmond, her brother Billie Clem, and her sisters Joyce Brummentt and Sharon Mabry. A service to celebrate Shirley's life will be held on October 2, 2026, at the Parker-Reedy Funeral Home in West Frankfort, Illinois. Shirley's memory will forever be cherished by her family and friends, who were blessed by her presence and the love she so generously shared.
