January 20, 1931 — April 18, 2026
It is with heavy hearts yet profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the peaceful passing of Shirley "Becky" Anderson on April 18, 2026. Born on January 20, 1931, in Louisville, Kentucky, Becky was a beacon of love, faith, and dedication to her family, community, and God. Surrounded by her beloved friends and family, she passed away at home, her spirit tenderly called to rest in the arms of Jesus.
The cherished daughter of John and Irene Becker, Becky was a vivacious spirit from a young age, blessed with a heart full of love and an unyielding faith. She is predeceased by her parents, her brothers, her devoted husband Richard Anderson, her daughter-in-law Lucia Anderson, and her grandson Aaron Richard Anderson. She now joins them in eternal peace.
Becky's life was a testament to her commitment to family and faith. She leaves behind a legacy of love in her surviving children: Mark Anderson, Dale and Jody Anderson, Dana and Sherri Anderson, as well as her grandchildren Justin Anderson, Kendra Stein, Freeman Nedd Anderson, and Ethan Anderson. Her spirit will undoubtedly continue to shine through her eight great-grandchildren, each a testament to her enduring love and guidance.
In 1950, Becky married Richard Anderson, embarking on a life journey as a pastor's wife that was filled with service, community, and faith. Together, they made a home that was warm and welcoming, often filled with the joyful noise of their church family and friends. Richard, who served as pastor at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Prescott, shared with Becky a life blessed by God and enriched by their mutual devotion to the church and its community.
A graduate of Hanover College with a degree in physical education, Becky chose the noble path of nurturing her family as a stay-at-home mom. She instilled in her three sons a love for sports, teaching them softball, volleyball, tennis, and ping pong, among countless other games. Her enthusiasm for life and sports knew no bounds, and she often played in city recreation leagues, where her competitive spirit and skill usually led her team to victory.
As a pastor's wife, Becky wore many hats. She served in the church choir, led Sunday school, provided special music, and reached out to members of the congregation with warmth and compassion. Her love for others was evident in every action, and she touched the lives of many through her tireless devotion and genuine care.
In her later years, Becky embraced the simple joys of life. She relished playing board games with friends, visiting nursing homes to spread cheer, and relaxing in the hot tub at Pinelakes. Her joyful spirit and kindness were ever-present, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Becky was a deeply spiritual person whose Christian beliefs guided every aspect of her life. Her love for others was pure and unwavering, a testament to her faith and character. A devoted mother and friend, her tireless devotion to her family was unmatched, and she leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and faith.
A celebration of Becky's life will be held on June 6, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Prescott Community Church, located on Willow Creek Rd. Her family invites all who knew her to join in honoring her memory and celebrating the beautiful life she lived.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Trinity Presbyterian Church in Prescott, continuing Becky's lifelong commitment to her faith and community.
As we say goodbye to our beloved Becky, we find solace in knowing that she is now embraced by the love of those who have gone before her. Her spirit lives on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her, and we are forever grateful for the impact she made on our lives.
