Shirley Arnold
March 6, 1960 — May 19, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Shirley Arnold, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Shirley departed this world peacefully on May 19, 2026, at the age of 66, surrounded by her loving children, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on March 6, 1960, in Indiana, where her journey began with great promise and warmth.
Shirley was the cherished daughter of Ruth Mitchell and Bob Law, who have both preceded her in death, along with her dearly missed son, Tyler. Despite these profound losses, Shirley's spirit remained vibrant and her heart ever open to those around her. She found immense joy and solace in the family she built with her devoted husband of 41 years, Peter Arnold, who stood by her side through every triumph and trial.
Together, Shirley and Peter nurtured a lively home filled with love and laughter, raising five wonderful children: Meghann, Bryn, Jordan, Callie, and Ross. Each child carries forward her legacy of kindness, humor, and resilience. Shirley's pride and joy were further amplified by her twelve grandchildren, who brought her endless smiles and countless cherished memories.
Shirley's family was her world, and she kept them close, often employing her sense of humor and sassy demeanor to brighten their lives. Known affectionately for her "sassiness," Shirley had a unique talent for making those around her feel special and loved. Her playful nature extended to her modern-day "stalking" of family through shared location services, a testament to her deep desire to stay connected and involved in their lives.
Surviving Shirley are her beloved husband Peter, her children Meghann, Bryn, Jordan, Callie, and Ross, and her sisters Susan and Mimi, along with a brother whose name she always playfully referred to as "Fred." These siblings shared an unbreakable bond, one that was filled with love, support, and shared memories that spanned decades.
Shirley's life was a tapestry of vibrant colors, woven with threads of love, perseverance, and a zest for living each day to its fullest. Her legacy is one of unwavering dedication to family, an unyielding spirit in the face of adversity, and an infectious joy that touched all who knew her.
As we say goodbye to Shirley, let us remember her as she lived: with a heart full of love, a soul overflowing with kindness, and a life that exemplified the beauty of family. Her memory will forever be cherished by those she leaves behind, a guiding light that will continue to illuminate our paths.
A celebration of Shirley's life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor her remarkable journey and the profound impact she made on all our lives. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a cancer research charity of your choice, in hopes of supporting the fight against the disease that took Shirley from us too soon.
Rest in peace, dear Shirley. You are deeply loved and will be profoundly missed, but your spirit will live on in our hearts forever.
