It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Shigeko King on April 15, 2026, at the age of 78. Shigeko departed from this world while in the gentle care of Colonial Nursing Home, as she bravely battled Alzheimer's Disease. Her life journey, which began on February 14, 1948, in Tokyo, Japan, was a tapestry woven with love, kindness, and cherished memories. Born to Haruto and Tananka Murase, Shigeko's life was a testament to resilience, compassion, and unwavering dedication to her family and community. In the vibrant city of Tokyo, her parents instilled values that would guide her throughout her life, shaping her into a woman loved by all who had the privilege to know her. On August 13, 1970, Shigeko married the love of her life, Herman King. Together, they embarked on a beautiful journey, marked by love, partnership, and shared dreams. Though Herman preceded her in death, their union was blessed with a daughter, Koyuki King, who resides in Lexington with her husband, Randy King. Shigeko found immense joy in her role as a grandmother, leaving behind a legacy of love through her three grandchildren: Sydney, Kyle, and Evan King. Shigeko's warmth and generosity were as boundless as her love for her family. Known for her kind spirit, she was always willing to lend a helping hand or offer a comforting word. Her kitchen was a place of gathering and delight, where she shared her passion for cooking with those she loved. Equally, she found great joy in watching her grandchildren play sports, cheering them on with pride and enthusiasm. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Shigeko's life on April 18, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Barlow Funeral Home, located at 2675 E John Rowan Blvd, Bardstown, KY 40004, United States. Her memory will be cherished, and her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched. Shigeko King leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and generosity. Her memory will be a guiding light for her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her. As we gather to celebrate her life, we find comfort in the beautiful memories she leaves behind and the impact she made on the lives of so many. May she rest in peaceful serenity, reunited with her beloved Herman, and forever in our hearts.
