In Loving Memory

Shielah Kay Wendt
January 19, 1955 — March 13, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Shielah Kay Wendt, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Shielah peacefully departed this world on March 13, 2026, after a courageous 12-year battle with COPD. She was 71.
Born on January 19, 1955, in Saginaw, Michigan, Shielah was the cherished daughter of Alberta and Lloyd Wolverton. Her early years were spent in a household filled with love and laughter, alongside her siblings, including her dear sister Madeline and niece Annette, affectionately known as Annie, who have preceded her in death.
Shielah's life was a testament to kindness and resilience. She was a woman of remarkable talent and effortless grace, known for her ability to transform the ordinary into something truly extraordinary. Her creative spirit found expression in sewing—creating beautiful garments and breathing new life into antique furniture, skills she honed with meticulous care and an eye for detail.
Above all, Shielah's greatest joy was her family. She was the heart of her home, a devoted "Nana" whose unconditional love and gentle spirit were the miracles that warmed the lives of her children, David and Carrie. She was a guiding light and a source of endless wisdom for her eight grandchildren, and her legacy of love extends deeply into the hearts of her four great-grandchildren, who were her pride and joy.
In every smile she shared, in every story she told, Shielah imparted lessons of compassion and strength. She lived with a kindness that endeared her to all who were blessed to know her. Her warmth was like a gentle embrace, a constant reminder of the beauty that can be found in the simplest acts of love.
The family will honor Shielah's memory in a private ceremony, gathering to celebrate the extraordinary life of a woman who gave so much of herself to others. Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit will forever guide us, as we find comfort in the memories we hold dear.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all who offered their devoted care and support throughout Shielah's illness. Your kindness will never be forgotten. To those who knew and loved Shielah, let us all hold her memory close and keep her spirit alive in our hearts.
As Shielah takes her place among the stars, we take solace in knowing that she is waiting for us, sitting on that heavenly bench, ready to welcome us with open arms when our time comes.
Rest in peace, dear Shielah. Your love will forever be our guiding light.
