In Loving Memory of Sheryl Wolins January 30, 1967 – May 15, 2026 With heavy hearts and cherished memories, we announce the peaceful passing of Sheryl Wolins at her home on May 15, 2026. Born in the vibrant city of Buffalo, NY, on January 30, 1967, Sheryl illuminated the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her journey through life was marked by a profound love for animals, an infectious smile, and a genuine ability to make others laugh. Sheryl was the beloved daughter of Nancy and Bill Clark and the late Dennis Wolins. She is lovingly remembered by her devoted fiancé, Steve Maytum, with whom she shared over five wonderful years and had recently celebrated their engagement. Sheryl’s spirit lives on in her son, Andrew Wolins, who was the light of her life. Her sisters, Tricia (Joey) Wheeler and Kristy (Eric) Shrader, held a special place in her heart, as did her dear friends, Betty Antoine and Roxy Orozco. Sheryl's warmth extended beyond her family and friends to her beloved furry companions, Colby, Dixie, and Dexter, who brought her endless joy and companionship. A proud graduate of Hamburg High School's class of 1987, Sheryl pursued higher education with passion and determination, earning multiple degrees from Medaille College and IUS. Her thirst for knowledge was matched only by her commitment to service, as she dedicated countless hours volunteering at various dog shelters and horse boarding facilities. Sheryl's heart was as expansive as her love for animals, and her efforts to aid those in need were truly commendable. An avid horse lover, Sheryl found solace and happiness in the simple pleasures of grooming, riding, and caring for horses. Her love for these majestic creatures was evident in every aspect of her life, and her dedication to their well-being was unwavering. Similarly, her compassion for dogs was a testament to her nurturing spirit, as she opened her heart and home to her rescues, providing them with the love and care they deserved. Sheryl's legacy is one of kindness, laughter, and love—a legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew her. A private funeral service will be held on May 30, 2026, allowing her family and close friends to honor her memory in an intimate setting. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to local animal shelters or equestrian centers, causes that were near and dear to Sheryl’s heart. Through these contributions, her passion for helping animals will continue to thrive, reflecting the beautiful impact she had on the world. As we celebrate the life of Sheryl Wolins, we remember her not only for the joy she brought into our lives but also for the love and compassion she selflessly shared with both people and animals alike. She will forever be missed but never forgotten, as her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she touched.
