Sheryl Beteau

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Sheryl Beteau, who departed this world on July 28, 2026, after a short battle with cancer, in the comforting embrace of her loved ones. Born on October 25, 1955, in Wayne, Michigan, Sheryl lived a life full of love, laughter, and dedication to her family. Sheryl was the daughter of Melvin Freeze and the late Beverly Jean Quesada. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, her brother Mark Freeze, her dear sister-in-law Nancy Ruth Beteau, and her loyal canine companion, Boss. Her spirit now watches over her devoted family, led by her husband of 38 years, Kim, with whom she shared an unbreakable bond and countless memories. Together, Sheryl and Kim built a nurturing home in the Irish Hills, where they raised their beautiful family. She is survived by her children, Danielle Starrs, and Derick (Vandria) Starrs, Melissa (David) Roberts, who continue to carry forward her legacy of love and strength. Sheryl's world revolved around her eight grandchildren—Andon, Natallie, Alena, Nash, Haisley, Thomas, Allie, and Boight—each of whom brought immense joy and pride to her life. Her cousin Paula Smith, whom Sheryl regarded as a sister, remains a cherished part of her family circle, along with her playful puppy, Lucky. Sheryl devoted her life to the care and upbringing of her children, finding fulfillment and joy in witnessing their growth and achievements. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family, as she made everyone who crossed her path feel welcomed and cherished. Known for her dazzling smile and infectious laughter, Sheryl possessed a remarkable ability to bring joy to others. Her generosity and warmth left a lasting impression on all who knew her, creating memories that will be treasured forever. In her free time, Sheryl found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Whether it was the thrill of riding her Harley-Davidson, the serenity of camping trips, or the companionship of her horses, she embraced each moment with enthusiasm. Her fondness for the outdoors and camaraderie with friends, especially in Sparta, reflected the adventurous spirit that defined her life. As a tribute to Sheryl's life, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Hospice Of Lenawee, an organization that provided comfort and care during her final days. Located in Adrian, MI, Hospice Of Lenawee holds a special place in the hearts of Sheryl's family. Sheryl Beteau's legacy is one of love, laughter, and an unyielding dedication to family and friends. Her memory will forever be a source of inspiration and strength for those who had the privilege of knowing her.
