It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for her life that we announce the passing of Sheryl Alison Jones, who departed this world on May 22, 2026, at the age of 76. Born on May 17, 1950, in the sun-dappled city of Pasadena, California, Sheryl was the cherished firstborn of David and Marian Jones. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, warmth, and unwavering dedication to those she loved and served.
Sheryl's journey through life was marked by her boundless dedication to education and her compassionate spirit. After graduating from Fresno State College with a B.A. in Special Education, Sheryl found her true calling as a Bi-lingual Kindergarten Teacher in the Los Angeles, California School District. Her gentle touch and patient nature left indelible marks on the lives of countless young minds, instilling in them a love for learning and an appreciation for diverse cultures.
A proud member of the Faith Community Bible Church in Madison, WI, Sheryl found strength and solace in her faith. Her involvement with Yahara House in Madison provided her with a community that she deeply cherished. Sheryl possessed a rare gift for hospitality, often opening her home and heart to friends and strangers alike. Her piano playing filled rooms with joy and her cheerful demeanor left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Sheryl's life was a testament to resilience and grace, even amidst the challenges of chronic illness. She faced her health struggles with a courage that inspired all who knew her, never once allowing her spirit to be dimmed. Her ability to greet everyone by name and take a personal interest in their lives was a reflection of her innate kindness and sincerity.
She is survived by her loving brothers, David Brynley (Carla) Jones, Bruce Arthur (Becky) Jones, and Bradley Roy (Dawn) Jones. Though Sheryl had no children of her own, her nurturing spirit touched the lives of many. She was predeceased by her beloved parents, David Roy Jones and Marian Russel Jones, whom she now joins in eternal peace.
While Sheryl's passing leaves a void that can never truly be filled, her memory will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who knew her. As per her wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor her life.
