Shertilla Knox-Edwards

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Shertilla Knox-Edwards, a cherished soul who graced our lives with her vibrant spirit, unwavering love, and boundless kindness. Shertilla departed this world on March 5, 2026, at the age of 42, after a courageous battle with a sudden illness. Her life began in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, on March 24, 1983, where she was born to Linda Lafaye Knox-Seals and Eugene Seals. Shertilla's journey was one of love, resilience, and dedication.
Shertilla was a beacon of strength and grace, having been predeceased by her beloved mother Linda Knox-Seals, great-grandmother Vida Davenport, grandparents Barbra Ann Knox and Ted Sheffield, and other cherished family members including her great aunt Alice Evans and cousins Devon Payne and Rodney Foreman Jr. She is now reunited with them in eternal peace.
Left to honor her memory are her four beloved children: Makila Knox, Richard Roebuck Jr., Zayvion Mills, and Naviyah Bonner, who were her pride and joy. Her sisters, Priscillia Lewis (Derrick Powell) and Christa Smith (Shaquan Smith), along with her brothers, Timothy Knox and Jerrod Knox, will forever cherish the bond they shared with Shertilla. Her legacy continues with her nephews and niece: Khalil Clay, Jordan Clay, Legend Knox, Amir Knox, and Aliza Clay. Shertilla's very special cousins, Jessica Knox and Quitina Pommells, along with her dear friends Shanique Russell and Patrice Hamlett, will hold her memory close to their hearts.
A graduate of Choctawhatchee High School in 2001, Shertilla's journey led her to a fulfilling career in the healthcare field. She began her career at Top's Choice Hamburgers before obtaining her certification as a nursing assistant at Fort Walton Beach Rehabilitation Center, where she dedicated over 27 years of her life, ultimately advancing to the role of Business Office Manager. At the time of her passing, Shertilla was serving as an admissions coordinator at Westwood Medical Facility, where her compassion and dedication left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Shertilla was an active member of the Destiny Worship Center and found joy in line dancing with friends and family at Tropix Bar & Grill, where her laughter and joy were infectious. Her warmth and kindness touched everyone she met, leaving an indelible mark on their hearts.
A celebration of Shertilla's life will be held on March 13, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Beulah Baptist Church, located at 109 McGriff St, Fort Walton Beach, FL 32548. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Shertilla are invited to join in honoring her beautiful life.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff of Emerald Coast Cancer Center, especially Dr. Henderson, for their unwavering support and transparency during Shertilla's journey. Special thanks are also extended to the staff of HCA Fort Walton Beach Hospital for their compassionate care. The family is deeply grateful to the incredible care team composed of friends and family members, including Priscillia Lewis, Christa Smith, Shenika Tucker-Smith, Danesha Knox, Shanta Foreman, Roshell Womack, Jessica Knox, Aliza Clay, Shanique Russell, Patrice, Felicia Johnson, Tiffany Prince, Annette Young, Leticia Davis, Jackie & Clifford Womack, and Shantavia Foreman, who provided comfort and support during this difficult time.
Shertilla Knox-Edwards will be remembered for her unwavering love, her joyful spirit, and her enduring legacy of kindness. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, and she will be profoundly missed. May she rest in eternal peace.
