SHERRY Y. PERIS

Sherry, a remarkable woman with an indomitable spirit, passed peacefully in her sleep on September 4, 2026, after a courageous journey with Alzheimer’s disease. Born on May 7, 1946, in Ada, Oklahoma, the eldest daughter of James Finch and Betty Francis, and predeceased by her parents, her infant brother James A. Finch, and her beloved dogs Tasha, Bailey, Roxie, Sadie, and Gracie. Her family, both human and furry, were her anchors, and she carried their love throughout her life. Sherry is survived by her daughter, Lisa Taylor, her sister Deborah Kuykendall Grippi and husband Frank Grippi, nephew Brian Kuykendall, and niece Amy Kuykendall. A proud graduate of Merced High School, Class of 1964, Sherry's academic achievements were just the beginning of a life filled with professional success. Her career in insurance began at Farmers Insurance Company in Merced and later flourished in Fresno with Fireman’s Fund and Larry Rocker & Associates/Harbor Administrators. In 1996, Sherry embraced a new venture as a realtor with London Properties, where her meticulous attention to detail earned her management roles until her retirement. Her colleagues and clients became an extended family, enriched by her genuine interest in their lives and children. Sherry was a past president of Insurance Women of Fresno and actively involved in various organizations including the Realtor’s Association, Littlest Angels Guild, La Comida Guild, and UCP. Her dedication to community was a reflection of her generous spirit. An avid reader, Sherry’s home was filled with books, each a gateway to new adventures. Her boundless love for her dogs, annual trips to Cambria, Disneyland, The X Files and Tom Selleck, brought joy to her days. Known for her famous fudge, Sherry shared her culinary delights with those she held dear. A formidable presence, Sherry's strong will, incisive mind, and quick wit were balanced by her generous and loyal nature. A celebration of Sherry's life will be held on September 23, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at Pardini’s, located at 2257 W. Shaw Ave, Fresno, CA. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Miss Winkles Pet Adoption Center or Animal Rescue of Fresno (ARF), in honor of Sherry’s enduring love for animals. Sherry’s kindness and love for her friends will be remembered by all who knew her.
