October 6, 1941 — March 15, 2026

Sherry Sue Daniels, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2026, surrounded by the warmth of her family. Her life's journey began on October 6, 1941, in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, born to Elzie Carter and Louise Hotaling, who have preceded her in death. Sherry's life was a tapestry woven with love, creativity, and an indomitable spirit. She was married to her cherished husband, Richard Arthur Daniels, for 60 beautiful years until his passing. Together, they built a family filled with love and laughter, raising four wonderful children: Lyn, Cherice, Debbie, and Suzie. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren—Steve, Crystal, Shannon, Nicole, Preston, Joe, Nick, Miranda, Tessa, and Tori—along with many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren who will carry her memory forward. Sherry was a devoted sister to Jackie, Linda, Jan, and Dedra, Gary, and her bond with them was a testament to the importance of family in her life. Her professional career as an office manager was marked by dedication and excellence, yet it was her passion for arts and crafts that truly defined her. Sherry's creativity knew no bounds, and she delighted in sharing her artistic talents with those around her, leaving behind treasured creations that continue to inspire and bring joy. Beyond her family and work, Sherry was a vibrant and active member of her community. She was a natural organizer, always bringing people together, be it through family reunions or her beloved ladies' groups like the "Red Hats," Bunco nights, stretch classes, and art classes. Her ability to foster connection and joy was unparalleled, and she was known for her warm spirit and generous heart. Sherry's battle with dementia, which she faced with remarkable strength and grace for nine years, has now concluded. She is reunited with her beloved Richard, her parents, and all those she loved who passed before her. Her family finds solace in knowing she is now at peace, watching over them with her characteristic love and protection. A private ceremony for to honor Richard and Sherry's will be held at sea on October 6, 2026, at 11:00 AM, marking what would have been her 85th birthday. In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor Sherry by celebrating her love of art, community, and family in your own lives. Sherry is dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her gentle spirit, unwavering love, and the beautiful memories she created with her family and friends remain etched in their hearts forever.
