December 14, 1961 — May 11, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Sherry Renee McFadden, who left this world on May 11, 2026, at the age of 64. Born on December 14, 1961, in St. Louis, Missouri, Sherry graced the world with her vibrant spirit and unyielding love for family and friends. Her departure, due to complications of a cerebrovascular accident, leaves a void in our hearts that will never truly be filled.
Sherry was the cherished daughter of Thelma and Claude Fulton, who predeceased her, along with her daughter Tamika, brothers Tony and John, sisters Charmen and Jacquetta, and nephews Jeffrey and Lamarr. Despite the profound loss of her loved ones, Sherry's resilience and strength were a testament to her indomitable spirit, qualities she passed on to her surviving family.
She is lovingly remembered by her children, Shalanda (Jasman), DeJuan, Elon (Paulette), Damon (Sharnell), and DeShawn, who were the pride and joy of her life. Her legacy continues through her eight treasured grandchildren: Zyair, Avion, Delon, Aiden, Elon, Jr., Noell, Arielle, and Tramion. Sherry also leaves behind her beloved sister Phyllis, her cherished nephew Britten, and her nieces Porsche, Sade (Jeremy), LaShawna, Larri, and Joe'l, whom she adored as her own daughters. Her extended family of great-nieces, great-nephews, and a multitude of relatives and friends will forever hold her memory close.
In her personal life, Sherry shared a loving partnership with London Sykes until 1996, where they devotedly raised five children together. Her nurturing spirit was a guiding light in their lives, and her dedication to family was unwavering.
Educated through the Detroit Public School system, Sherry went on to share her wisdom and kindness with others in the customer service industry and as a teacher at Fairview Christian School. Her professional journey was marked by her commitment to helping others, a theme that resonated throughout her life.
A devout and faithful member of Fairview Baptist Church for many years, Sherry later became an active member and choir member of Second Chapel Hill Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Robert J. Coverson. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life and provided her with a community of friends who cherished her deeply.
Sherry found joy in helping the elderly, spending time with her family, and indulging in her love of music. She was quick-witted and sharp, known for her infectious smile and laughter that could light up any room. Whether playing cards and dominoes or engaging in word puzzles and game shows, Sherry's exuberance and zest for life were contagious.
In accordance with Sherry's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor her life and legacy. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to The Funeral Home for their compassionate services and to all those who have joined them in remembering Sherry's remarkable life.
As we say goodbye to a woman who touched so many lives with her love, warmth, and wisdom, we hold onto the memories that will forever remain in our hearts. Sherry Renee McFadden's legacy of love and laughter will continue to inspire all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed by all.
