September 9, 1954 — September 26, 2026

On September 9, 1954 Sherry Lee Lloyd, affectionately known as "Mama", was born in Augusta, Georgia to Della Dyson. She was lovingly raised by her mother, Della and stepfather Lawrence Dyson Sr., who helped instill in her the values of faith, family, responsibility, generosity and service to others. After spending her early years in Augusta, Georgia, Sherry later relocated to New York City, where she would build a beautiful life filled with family, friendships, faith and love. From an early age, Sherry carried a gentle strength and a bright spirit that made her unforgettable to everyone who crossed her path. She was known for being loving, kind, confident, amazing, and truly one of a kind. Sherry was educated through the New York City Public School System and later continued her education at LaGuardia Community College and later employed by New York City Health & Hospital as a medical buyer. After dedicating 30 years to her career. She happily retired in 2021. Sherry's spiritual foundation began at an early age where she was baptized as a teenager. In 2021, she joined The House of Refuge Church under the leadership of Pastor Rickie Jones. Her faith remained an important part of the woman she became. Sherry knew faith was more than something spoken - it was something she lived. Her favorite scripture was Psalms 23, which reflected the comfort, strength, and trust in God that guided her throughout her life. All of the roles Sherry embraced throughout her lifetime, none was more precious than raising and being a MOTHER to her daughter Tori (TJ) Jeanette Lloyd. Her love for Tori was unmeasurable. The bond they shared represented one of the greatest joys and blessings of Sherry's life. Sherry Lee Lloyd completed her earthly journey at the age of 72. She proceeded in death by her parents Della and Lawrence Dyson. Her two brothers Anthony and Lawrence Dyson, her godmother Lizzie Mae Purdie and her niece Carla Jones. Sherry leaves to cherish in memory her loving daughter, Tori Jeanette Lloyd affectionately known as "TJ", her siblings Adele Dyson of Virginia Beach VA, and Ivan Lloyd of Corona NY: her beloved godsister Yvette Cromartie-Wright of East Elmhurst, NY. She also leaves to cherished memories with her godchildren, Kandance, Ezza and LiDenne, and a host of special nieces and nephews who were like second children to her: Thyaisha, Aajee, Tracie,Wanda, Janiya, Arielle, Nathaniel "Nate", and Keontae. She will also be remembered by a host of friends and family and all those whose lives were made brighter by knowing her. Through she is no longer with us in body, her love will continue to surround her family, her faith will continue to guide those she inspired, and her memory will forever remain a blessing. Rest peacefully, Mama. Your work on earth is complete. Your love lives on.

Safely Home

I am home in Heaven, dear ones; Oh, so happy and so bright! There is perfect joy and beauty In this everlasting light. All the pain and grief is over, Every restless tossing passed; I am now at peace forever, Safely home in Heaven at last. "God Took An Angel" God took an Angel and left me void. I feel like he ripped you right from my soul. I know he called you home to do his work Up there in Heaven with Him. Which puts a smile on your face...As well as mine. I love you, Mother. Until we meet again. Your Daughter Tori "aka" TJ
