Sherry Ann Riley

With heavy hearts and profound respect, we celebrate the life of Sherry Ann Riley, who departed this world on July 26, 2026. Born on March 18, 1979, in Kansas City, Missouri, Sherry lived a life filled with love, faith, and joy. Sherry was the beloved daughter of Wilma Dee Winter and the late Kenny Glasco. She was also cherished by her brother Marcus Mario Winters and Kenny Glasco Jr. both of Kansas City, MO. her Auntie Denise Glasco of Kansa city MO. Sherry was predeceased by her father, her brother Timothy Mark Riley, her maternal grandmother Joyce Ann Riley, and her paternal grandparents. A devoted mother, Sherry is survived by her two sons, Xevier Nimrod of Kansas City and Wayne Nimrod of Green Bay, Wisconsin, along with her two precious grandchildren, Lydia Dior Nimrod and Xanna Nimrod who both will carry the light of her love forward. Sherry spent five beautiful years with Javier Harden, a relationship that brought profound joy and and now heartbreak. Their bond was deep, with daily selfies, sweet smiles, and words of love that will forever be etched in Javier's heart. An alumna of North East High School, Class of 97, Sherry embraced life with a passion for hairstyling and music. She was a self-taught "old school" hairstylist, delighting in creating microwave curls, finger wave scrunch up-dos, and feathered bangs for her cousins. But it was her voice, a heavenly gift, that truly shone. When Sherry sang, it was said the angels gathered to listen, and now she leads the choir in heaven with her favorite song "I Can Only Imagine." Sherry's journey of faith began at Olive Street Missionary Baptist Church under the guidance of Pastors Ulysses Berkley and Robert Rhodes. She continued her spiritual path at Providence House of Worship with Pastor Johnny Moore, where her love for God was evident in her joy, freedom, and service. Known for her kind heart and radiant smile, Sherry had a unique way of making everyone feel like family. Whether you were cuzz, cousin, or cutty. To Sherry, you were always family. A memorial service to honor Sherry's life will be held on August 15, 2026, at 9:00 AM at Providence House of Worship, located at 1925 Hardesty, Kansas City, MO 64127. The Riley family extends their deepest gratitude for the love, prayers, and support they have received during this difficult time. As we remember Sherry, we hold close the words, "What we have once enjoyed we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us." May her memory be a blessing to all who knew her.
