It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Sherri Karen Lawford, who departed this world on June 18, 2026, at the age of 63. Sherri passed away peacefully at the hospital after a courageous battle with illness, surrounded by her loving family and the compassionate care of the medical staff at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.
Born on April 9, 1963, in the charming town of Huddersfield, Sherri was the cherished daughter of Cynthia Moyston. She was predeceased by her beloved family members, Jane Leslie and Edith Moyston, who surely welcomed her with open arms into the next life.
Sherri's life was a testament to warmth and generosity. Her spirit was as radiant as her glamour, and her giggles were infectious, bringing joy to everyone she encountered. She embraced life with a vivacious heart and an unwavering kindness that left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Sherri was a beacon of light who will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
She is survived by her devoted mother, Cynthia Moyston, her loving sister, Shanta Lawford, and her dear brothers, Anthony and Earl Lawford. She also leaves behind her cherished nephew, Lewis Lawford, and treasured gran niece, Sienna, who will both carry forward her legacy of love and laughter.
A service to celebrate Sherri's remarkable life will be held on July 17, 2026, at 13:15 at All Hallows Church, located at Westgate, Almondbury, Huddersfield, allowing all who loved her to join in remembrance and gratitude.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Sherri's honor to MacMillan Cancer Research, an organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by cancer, a cause close to Sherri's heart.
The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the doctors and nurses on Ward 22 at the Huddersfield Royal Infirmary for their compassionate and dedicated care during Sherri's final days. Their kindness and professionalism brought comfort to Sherri and her loved ones during a difficult time.
As we gather to honor Sherri's life, let us remember the joy she brought to our lives and carry her spirit forward by embracing the warmth, generosity, and laughter she so beautifully exemplified.
