It is with profound sorrow and heartfelt gratitude for a life beautifully lived that we announce the passing of Sherine Melissa Williams Pittman. Born on October 31, 1968, in Reidsville, NC, Sherine was lovingly called home to be with the Lord on October 8, 2024, at Gibson House Ancora Compassionate Care. Her journey was one of love, resilience, and unwavering faith.
Sherine was the beloved daughter of Mable Hill and Simon Davis, who instilled in her the values of compassion and dedication that she carried throughout her life. She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Ralph Pittman, and together they shared a love that served as a beacon of strength and partnership.
A proud graduate of George Washington High School in 1987, Sherine's passion for healthcare led her to earn a degree in Respiratory Therapy from DCC. Her insatiable curiosity and commitment to understanding the human mind inspired her to further her education with a bachelor's degree in psychology from Liberty University.
Sherine's professional journey was marked by her dedication to the well-being of others, and she was a cherished member of the Reidsville, NC, and Danville, VA communities. Her warmth and compassion left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Her legacy continues through her cherished daughter, Imani Anderson, and her beloved goddaughter, Cassidy Tuck. Sherine was a guiding light to her six brothers: Paul Hill, Paxton Hill, Sherman Williams, Shamore Williams (Minnie), Shermaine McDonald (Deb), and Jermaine Davis; her three sisters: Angel Smith (Lakeshia), Sherita Beard, and Johnita Robinson (Shannon). Her heart also opened to five bonus children: Phillip Hawkins, Ralph Pittman (Drew), Bryan Pittman (Anisha), Racquael Woods (Shadi), and Summer Hall.
Sherine's family ties extended to her two uncles, Larry Person (Renate) and Albert Person (Barbara), and her three aunts, Louise Swanson, Akram Salaam, and Khadija Apyapong. She shared a special bond with her sister/cousin, Janet Gwynn, and found unwavering friendship in Alicia and Daryl. To her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, Sherine was a source of joy, wisdom, and inspiration.
A celebration of Sherine's life will be held on October 12, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Wadsworth Congregational Church, located at 1301 Rock Creek Dairy Road, Whitsett, NC. Friends and family are invited to gather in memory of a remarkable woman whose spirit will forever remain in our hearts.
As we reflect on Sherine's life, we are comforted by the words shared by her family: "Sherine's legacy will live on through the numerous lives she's touched and the memories that will be shared by loved ones. She will be deeply missed."
