In Loving Memory

Shenay Ingram
May 27, 1982 — April 13, 2026
It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved Shenay Ingram, who left this world on April 13, 2026, at the age of 43. Shenay slipped away peacefully at her home, surrounded by love, after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. Though her journey with us has concluded, her spirit and the warmth she shared will remain with us forever.
Born on May 27, 1982, in Cleveland, Ohio, Shenay was the cherished daughter of Randell Byarse and Shalonda Ingram. She was greeted in heaven by her grandparents, Cecil and Ethel Ingram, whose love and guidance shaped the compassionate woman she became.
Shenay was a beacon of strength and a source of inspiration to her family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience, which her surviving family will carry forward. She is survived by her devoted parents, Randell (Phyllis) Byarse and Shalonda Ingram; her cherished children, Savion and Desire, who were the center of her universe; and her precious grandchildren, who brought her immense joy and pride. Shenay is also survived by her loving siblings, Linda and Randolph Byarse, and Sheldon, Sherene, and Shantell Ingram. She held a special place in her heart for the love of her life, Allen Hood, and her steadfast friend, Brandi Jones, whose companionship brought her comfort and joy throughout the years.
A proud graduate of Jane Adams High School in 2001, Shenay pursued her passion for helping others by earning an MBA in Public Relations from Norfolk State University in 2006. She dedicated her career to guiding and supporting students as a guidance counselor at Tidewater Community College. Her unwavering commitment to her students and her colleagues left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
In addition to her professional achievements, Shenay was an active member of the Greater Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as the secretary of the trustee board. She was also a long-time assistant cheer coach for the Lady Thunderbirds from 2012 to 2019, where her enthusiasm and dedication inspired many young athletes.
Shenay's life was rich with interests and passions. A diehard Cleveland Browns fan, she never missed a game and celebrated the team's victories and defeats with equal fervor. She loved to travel and shop, and her weekends were often spent in the company of family and friends, engaging in spirited games of Spades that filled her home with laughter and love.
Shenay's quick wit and radiant smile could light up any room, and her ability to find the silver lining in any situation was a testament to her unwavering faith and optimistic spirit. She loved God and adored her children, finding strength and solace in her faith and family.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Shenay's memory to organizations supporting breast cancer research and awareness, a cause close to her heart.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to everyone who offered prayers, calls, and words of encouragement during Shenay's illness. Your love and support have been a source of comfort and strength.
As we bid farewell to Shenay, we celebrate the beautiful life she lived, the countless lives she touched, and the enduring love she leaves behind. May her soul rest in eternal peace, and may her memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved her.
