With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Shelia Dianne Morris, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who left this world on May 18, 2026, at Singing River Hospital. Shelia was born on August 10, 1949, in Raymond, Mississippi, to her loving parents, Shianne and Marcus Morris, who predeceased her. Shelia's life was a testament to dedication, love, and kindness. She graduated with honors from Raymond High School, marking the start of a life filled with accomplishments both modest and profound. A woman of great intellect and warmth, she carried with her the values of her upbringing throughout her life. On May 2, 1971, Shelia married the love of her life, Leanord Morris. Their union was a beautiful testament to enduring love, a pure and unwavering bond that served as an inspiration to all who knew them. Together, they built a family rooted in love and respect, welcoming three wonderful children into their lives: Ashley, James, and Stacy. Shelia's greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted mother who nurtured and guided her children with wisdom and compassion. Her Sundays were sacrosanct, dedicated to family gatherings where she would lovingly prepare meals, filling her home with the aroma of comfort and the sound of laughter. Even as her health waned, the spirit of those Sundays lived on, a legacy of love and togetherness that her family will carry forward. Her love extended beyond her immediate family to her six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, each of whom she adored and cherished. Shelia had an extraordinary ability to make each of them feel special, imparting life lessons and stories that will echo through generations. Shelia is survived by her devoted husband, Leanord, her beloved children, Ashley, James, and Stacy, her six treasured grandchildren, and her four precious great-grandchildren. Her life was a beacon of love, and she leaves behind a family enriched by her presence and her eternal love. In accordance with her wishes, a private ceremony will be held to honor Shelia's life. While her physical presence will be deeply missed, her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were privileged to know her. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, they ask that you honor Shelia's memory by embracing each other a little tighter and sharing a meal with the ones you love, just as she did. Rest in peace, dear Shelia. You have left an indelible mark on this world, and your legacy of love will forever remain.
