It is with heavy hearts and profound respect that we announce the peaceful passing of Sheila Smith, affectionately known as Stella Moore, on March 31, 2026, after a brief illness. Sheila was a remarkable woman whose life was a tapestry of resilience, love, and joy, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Born on December 14, 1938, in the vibrant town of La Brea, Trinidad and Tobago, Sheila lived a life filled with adventure, laughter, and unwavering love. Sheila was the loving and devoted mother of six children: Margaret Moore, Kelvin Moore, Anslem Moore, Terry Moore, Merlyn Moore, and Andre Moore. Predeceased by her beloved children, Kelvin and Anslem, she now joins them in peace and eternal rest. Sheila is survived by her cherished family, her daughter-in-law, Debra Moore, wife of Terry, and her son-in-law, Willie Jones, husband of Merlyn. Her legacy of love is carried on by her numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will forever hold her in their hearts. In her later years, Sheila found companionship and joy with her partner, Gideon Amoroso, who stood by her side in her golden years. Sheila's journey was one of courage and dedication. As a young woman, she worked as a taxi driver in Trinidad, navigating the bustling streets with grace and determination. Later, she retired in the United States as a compassionate home health aide, where her nurturing spirit and gentle care touched the lives of many. Sheila's life was a true testament to the strength of the human spirit, as she overcame numerous challenges with unwavering resilience and a heart full of love. Beyond her work, Sheila had a passion for sewing, cooking, and music. Her home was often filled with the delightful aroma of her expertly prepared meals, and her laughter would echo as she danced to the vibrant rhythms of calypso, reggae, and romantic songs from times gone by. Her stories, rich with humor and wisdom, captivated the hearts of those around her, leaving them with smiles and cherished memories. Sheila was a woman of peace, always striving to bring harmony to those around her. Her infectious joy and laughter were a beacon of light, bringing comfort and happiness to family and friends alike. Her capacity to listen, love, and nurture was unparalleled, and her legacy of kindness will continue to inspire all who knew her. In accordance with her wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Sheila's extraordinary life. As we say goodbye, we celebrate the vibrant life she lived, the love she shared, and the many hearts she touched. Sheila Smith, our beloved Stella Moore, will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her spirit will continue to live on through the stories, laughter, and love she leaves behind.
