December 14, 1938 — March 31, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved matriarch, Sheila Smith, affectionately known to many as Stella Moore. Sheila departed this world on March 31, 2026, at the age of 87, following a brief illness. Born in the vibrant town of La Brea, Trinidad and Tobago, on December 14, 1938, Sheila’s life was a testament to resilience, love, and the power of laughter. Sheila was a woman of remarkable strength and compassion, having faced and overcome numerous challenges throughout her life with grace and unwavering determination. Her journey was not always an easy one, yet she navigated it with a spirit that was both loving and peaceful. She was a beacon of joy, whose infectious laughter could brighten even the darkest of days. Known for her vibrant personality, Sheila had an ardent love for calypso music. The rhythms of her homeland would often fill her home, and she could frequently be found dancing with abandon, a smile illuminating her face. Her storytelling was legendary—each tale spun with humor and warmth, leaving her listeners in fits of laughter and with hearts full. Sheila's legacy is one of love, laughter, and peace. She was a cherished mother to her six children, two of whom have preceded her in death. Her family was her pride and joy, and her influence extended to numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each of whom carries a piece of her spirit within them. Though her family was large, the number of her grandchildren stands at zero, highlighting the unique and unconventional path her family tree has taken. A private ceremony will be held to honor Sheila's memory, as her family and close friends gather to celebrate a life well-lived. In their hearts, they will cherish the joy she brought into their lives and the lessons she imparted through her enduring love and laughter. In remembering Sheila, we celebrate a life filled with music, stories, and an unyielding zest for life. Her legacy of love and resilience will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. Though she has left this world, her spirit will forever dance among us, a testament to a life lived fully and joyously. May she rest in eternal peace, embraced by the music she so dearly loved.
