June 4, 1938 — April 27, 2026

With heavy hearts yet profound gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the peaceful passing of Sheila Rene Johnson on April 27, 2026, at the age of 87. Sheila was surrounded by the love of her family in the comfort of her home, as she quietly departed this world. Sheila was born on June 4, 1938, in Ascot, Bracknell Forrest, United Kingdom, to the late Thomas Hickin and Rena Ethel Parkinson. Her early years in England were marked by deep familial bonds and a sense of community that would define her essence throughout her life. In 1959, Sheila married the love of her life, Curtis E. Johnson, at Holy Trinity Church in Bracknell, England, beginning a journey filled with love and adventure. Their union, lasting until Curtis's passing, was a testament to devotion and partnership. Together, they embarked on a new chapter in Las Vegas, Nevada, where they raised a beautiful family and built a life rich in love and blessings. Sheila's career began as a telephone operator in Bracknell, where fate intervened at Greenham Common Airbase, connecting her with Curtis. After relocating to the United States, Sheila found her professional calling as a branch manager at Wells Fargo (previously Norwest Bank) in Las Vegas. Her dedication and leadership were evident until her retirement, leaving a legacy of professionalism and integrity. A devout member of the Living Water Baptist Church, Sheila's faith was a guiding light throughout her life. Her active participation in church events reflected her commitment to her community and her deep spirituality. Her contributions to the church were marked by her generous spirit and unwavering faith. Sheila was a devoted mother to her children, Curtis Johnson, William (Gene) Johnson, and Jackie Johnson, and a cherished grandmother to her six grandchildren: Jessie Johnson, Audrey Cook, Joshua Johnson, Amanda Johnson, Katelynne Johnson, and Michael Eaton. Her legacy extends to her 13 great-grandchildren, who will carry forward her spirit and love. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who were touched by her warmth and kindness. Sheila's life was filled with simple joys that brought her immense happiness. She found delight in movies, plays at the Smith Center, and the camaraderie of volunteering for church events. Her Sunday phone calls to her grandchildren were a testament to her boundless love and unwavering presence in their lives. Known for her gentle kindness and supportive nature, Sheila's warm heart enveloped everyone she met. Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Curtis, her brothers Alan Shaw and Brian Hickin, and her sister Brenda Richardson, Sheila now rests in eternal peace, reunited with her loved ones. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Arlene and Carol for their unwavering support during Sheila's final weeks at home, to friends who offered meals and companionship, and to the staff of AMG Hospice for their compassionate care. A celebration of Sheila's life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor her memory and share stories of a remarkable woman who touched countless lives. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Living Water Baptist Church in Sheila's memory. Though Sheila has departed from this earthly realm, her spirit, love, and light will continue to inspire and guide all who knew her. She will be deeply missed, yet her legacy of love and kindness will endure in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
