It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Sheila Moore, who departed this world peacefully on October 15, 2025, at the age of 83. Sheila's journey began on August 8, 1942, in Jersey City, NJ, where she was born to Maurice and Mary O'Connell. Her life was a testament to love, resilience, and the unwavering strength she drew from her cherished family and community. Sheila was predeceased by her beloved parents, Maurice and Mary, and her dear sister Patty. She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory: her devoted sister Mary, her children Michael, Laurie and her husband Tom, Christine, and Kathleen. Her six adoring grandchildren—Tommy and his wife Amanda, Joey, Paul and his wife Chloe, Matthew and his wife Lauren, Kimberly, and Kristoffer and his wife Kristie—were a constant source of joy and pride. Sheila also had the joy of welcoming into the world three great-grandsons, Oliver, Elliot, and Luke Bear, who brought a renewed light to her later years. Sheila's career as a Customer Service Manager at Shop-Rite and Foodtown supermarkets was marked by her dedication to her colleagues and the community. Her legacy includes the mentoring of countless young individuals, whom she guided with patience, wisdom, and strength. A champion for those with special needs, Sheila implemented programs that created safe and empowering employment opportunities, ensuring that every voice was heard and respected. Outside of her professional life, Sheila was a passionate wordsmith. Her love for creating rhymes, poems, short stories, and limericks was a reflection of her vibrant spirit and quick wit. No scrap of paper or napkin was safe from her creativity, as she was forever jotting notes and capturing the essence of life's moments with her pen. Sheila was known for her quiet strength, resilience, and wisdom. Her presence was a beacon of hope and comfort to those who knew her, and her quick wit brought laughter and joy to all around her. Her life was enriched by a deep faith, and her family often found solace in her favorite prayer: "Saint Anthony, Saint Anthony, please come around, Something is lost and must be found." As we say goodbye to Sheila, we remember her not only for the love and guidance she provided but also for the indelible mark she left on all our hearts. Her memory will continue to inspire those she touched throughout her life, and her legacy will live on in the stories we share and the love we give.
