In Loving Memory

Shawn Hoglan
January 5, 1995 — October 7, 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Shawn Hoglan, a beloved son, husband, father, brother, and friend. Shawn was born on January 5, 1995, in Newark, New Jersey, and his bright, adventurous spirit touched the lives of all who knew him. Tragically, Shawn left us far too soon.
Shawn was the cherished son of Michael Wilcher and Shannon Hoglan, who nurtured his curiosity and zest for life from an early age. He was a devoted husband to Samayah Hoglan, with whom he shared a deep and abiding love. Together, they built a beautiful family, raising their two precious daughters, who were the light of his life and who, like their father, have embraced a love of sports.
Shawn was the kind of person who left an indelible mark on everyone he met. His siblings remember him as a spirited and loving brother, always ready with a smile or a helping hand. His playful nature and dedication to family and friends endeared him to many, and his laughter was a joyful presence in their lives.
A skilled welder, Shawn honed his craft while working for Blue Origin in Florida before taking the bold step to work independently as a certified welder. His work was not just a job; it was a testament to his determination and hard work. Shawn's colleagues admired his expertise and his unwavering commitment to excellence in his field.
Outside of work, Shawn found immense joy in playing sports. Whether on the soccer field, tennis court, or basketball court, his passion for sports was infectious. He enjoyed not only the competition but also the camaraderie that came with it. Watching his daughters follow in his footsteps brought him immense pride and happiness.
In keeping with Shawn's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor his life and legacy.
Though Shawn's time with us was cut short, the impact he made on the lives of those around him will continue to echo. His warmth, kindness, and spirit will be deeply missed, but the love he shared and the memories he created will remain forever in our hearts.
In lieu of flowers, the family of Shawn Hoglan welcomes donations to a charity, nonprofit, church, or organization of your choosing.
