Sharon Weak

December 22, 1945 — August 30, 2026

Sharon Weak, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home on August 30, 2026, following a courageous battle with bile duct cancer. She was born on December 22, 1945, in Nebraska City, Nebraska, to George Edward and Eva May Poulos. Sharon was a woman of immense strength and boundless love whose warmth touched the hearts of everyone who knew her. She was a devoted wife to her late husband, Robert Edward Weak, with whom she shared four decades of love and companionship following their marriage in 1976. Together, they built a beautiful life centered around family, hard work, and countless cherished memories while having the keen eye for collecting antiques. Sharon began her career as a bookkeeper for the local utilities in Nebraska City, where her meticulous attention to detail was greatly valued. Following her marriage to Robert, she continued her bookkeeping career with Telstar Electric and Weak Storage Center, contributing her time, talents, and dedication to the family business. A woman of many talents, Sharon had a creative spirit that was especially evident in her love of floral design. Her beautiful arrangements graced many weddings, and she took great pride in making her own home warm, welcoming, and beautifully decorated- especially during the holidays. With each holiday her love for decorating took your breath away, because it made you feel like you were truly peeking into a holiday window display, where family and friends loved to gather for the holidays. But her most favorite holiday was Halloween when she could be a child at heart, decorating her house spookily and dressing as a witch. She would squeal with excitement when she went through haunted houses with her grandchildren. Sharon's vibrant personality and love of life could be seen in the things she enjoyed most. She loved playing cards with friends and gossiping, going on shopping adventures, spectacular decorating, and, above all, spending time with the people she loved. Her hospitality was unmatched. She opened her heart and her home freely and unconditionally, making everyone who entered feel welcome. Her greatest joy was her family. Sharon survived by Bob's extended family, her children, Robert and Megan Weak, Dave and Amy Weak, Stephen Weak, Lisza Bowers, Glenda and Mark Head. She was a proud grandmother to eleven grandchildren: Robert Jason Weak Jr; Ashley and Ibou Ka; Elizabeth and Jason Schmidt; Julian Weak; Jiana Weak; Michael and Salem Shallenberger; Dylan Ackland; Misty Ackland; Cody Ackland; Marjina and Joe Smith; Maya and Taylor Wittmaack. She was also blessed with nine great-grandchildren: Sophie Ka, Thierno Ka, Isla Ka, Elijah Shields, Cas Schmidt, Asher Shields, Priyanka Bowers, Peliah Bowers, and Phoenix Smith. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, George and Eva Poulos; her sons, Aaron Shallenberger and Mitchell Weak; and her devoted husband, Robert Edward Weak.
