In Loving Memory
Sharon Steven
July 30, 1946 — February 23, 2026
It is with heavy hearts yet profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of our beloved Sharon Steven, who left us peacefully on February 23, 2026, at the age of 79, after a courageous battle with cancer. Sharon’s journey began on July 30, 1946, in the vibrant city of Kingston, Jamaica, where she was born to the late Clifford Steven and Marlene Gray Steven.
Sharon's life was a testament to strength, resilience, and an unwavering dedication to her family and her craft. From a young age, she demonstrated an innate talent for tailoring, a skill she honed with grace and precision. Her career as a tailor was more than a profession; it was a passion that allowed her to bring joy and beauty into the lives of others through her creations. In addition to her work as a tailor, Sharon also embraced the role of a housekeeper, putting her remarkable work ethic and attention to detail into every task she undertook.
Sharon’s love for her family was immense and boundless. She was a devoted mother, nurturing her children with endless love and wisdom. Her home was a sanctuary filled with warmth, laughter, and the comforting aroma of her delicious cooking. As a grandmother and great-grandmother, Sharon’s heart grew even fuller, as she cherished every opportunity to share in the lives of her four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Her stories, hugs, and handmade gifts will forever remain treasured memories.
Beyond her professional and familial commitments, Sharon was known for her kind spirit and generous nature. She had an innate ability to make everyone she met feel welcome and valued. Her home was a gathering place filled with the joyous sounds of conversation and laughter, and she had a remarkable gift for turning acquaintances into lifelong friends.
Sharon’s legacy is one of love, kindness, and resilience. She taught those around her the importance of perseverance, the beauty of simplicity, and the strength found in compassion. Though she is no longer with us, Sharon's spirit continues to shine brightly in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
She is survived by her children, who will carry forward her lessons and love; her four cherished grandchildren; and her two precious great-grandchildren, who will grow up surrounded by the stories and values of their great-grandmother. Her extended family and friends will forever hold her memory dear.
A celebration of Sharon’s life will be held on a date to be announced, where friends and family will gather to honor her remarkable journey and the indelible mark she left on all our lives.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to cancer research in Sharon’s memory, to help others in their fight against the disease that she bravely battled.
Sharon Steven will be dearly missed, but her legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
