Sharon Lonnette Hoover

In loving memory of Sharon Lonnette Hoover, whose life was a testament to love, faith, and kindness, we announce her peaceful passing on September 8, 2026. Born on June 1, 1953, in Memphis, Tennessee, Sharon was a beacon of joy and warmth to all who knew her. She was the cherished daughter of Helen and Lonnie Jones Jr., who preceded her in passing, along with her beloved brother, Tyronzo Nolan. A proud graduate of John Adams High School, Sharon met her soulmate, Roy Hoover, during her high school years, and they married in 1973. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter, raising three wonderful children, Shianna, Simone, and Shakeer Hoover. She also lovingly embraced her stepson, Delvon Bell, as her own. Sharon pursued higher education at Cuyahoga Community College, where she honed her skills and embarked on a dedicated career with the Cleveland Municipal Clerk of Courts. Over 16 years, she served with distinction as a Chief Deputy Clerk in the Criminal Division, retiring in 2018 after a career marked by integrity and commitment. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she served her church with devotion. As a choir member, Prayer and Bible Band Assistant Teacher, and President of the Sunshine Band, Sharon touched many lives with her spiritual leadership and grace. A woman of many talents, Sharon had an affinity for baking and crafting, often sharing her creations with friends and family. Her love for the outdoors was evident in her passion for fishing, where she found peace and joy in nature's embrace. Sharon will forever be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor, beautiful smile, and the generosity that defined her character. Above all, her unwavering love for Jesus Christ was the guiding force in her life. A service to celebrate Sharon’s life will be held on September 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Temple Church of God in Christ, located at 12517 Soika Avenue. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice in Sharon’s memory. Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we find comfort in knowing that Sharon's earthly journey has ended, but her eternal life has begun. We rejoice in the promise that she is now at home with the Lord, and we look forward to the day when we will be reunited with her in heaven.
