Sharon L English
November 13, 1953 — June 8, 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Sharon L. English, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Sharon left this world peacefully in her sleep on June 8, 2026, having embraced a life full of love, laughter, and cherished moments. Born on November 13, 1953, in Pasadena, California, Sharon's journey through life was marked by her vibrant spirit and unwavering dedication to her family and community.
Sharon was the cherished daughter of Gordon and Phyllis Mcilroy Drumheller, who predeceased her, as did her beloved son, Michael Robinson. She is survived by her devoted husband of 26 years, David M. Bednar, who stood by her side with unwavering love and support. Sharon and David's love story began in Kingston, Jamaica, where they were married on April 14, 2000. Together, they built a life filled with shared dreams and adventures, living in New Jersey and Pennsylvania before retiring to their dream home in Sunset, South Carolina.
A proud graduate of Lansdale High School, Class of 1971, Sharon excelled in her career, working as an administrative assistant in the pharmaceutical sector and later as a sample accountability manager until her retirement in 2001. Her colleagues remember her as an efficient and dedicated professional, always ready with a kind word or a helpful hand.
Sharon's life was a tapestry woven with the threads of her many passions. An avid softball player, she held the pitcher's mound with skill and grace, her love for the game matched only by her enthusiasm for gardening. Her garden was a riot of color, a testament to her love for posies and her green thumb. Sharon's joyful spirit shone brightest during the holidays, particularly Thanksgiving and Christmas, when she delighted family and friends with her famed potato filling.
A lover of games, Sharon enjoyed the camaraderie of playing pinochle, especially three-handed double-deck games. Her warmth and quick wit made her the life of the party, and she had a unique gift for making everyone around her feel comfortable and cherished. Sharon's wooden duck collection was a testament to her eye for beauty and her appreciation for life's simple joys.
Sharon's legacy lives on in her surviving family: her children, Kristin Davenport (Andy Davenport), Gina Milner (Andy), and Lauren Brimhall (Shawn); her brother, Robert Drumheller (Bobby); and her eight grandchildren, Drew Davenport, Jade Davenport, Addison Milner, Cole Milner, Austin Brimhall, Jaxen Brimhall, Kayla Barker, and Avery Barker. Each of them carries a piece of her heart and will continue to celebrate her memory with love and laughter.
A service to honor and celebrate Sharon's life will be held on June 18, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Civarelli Funeral Home, located at 951 Butler Pike, Ambler, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Sharon's memory to the Alzheimer's Association, a cause close to her heart.
Sharon L. English touched the lives of all who knew her with her kindness, humor, and love. Her legacy of warmth and joy will be cherished forever, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
