Sharon K. Corben

March 1, 1942 — June 22, 2026

With profound sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Sharon K. Corben on June 22, 2026, at the age of 84. Sharon departed from this world in the comfort of her home, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on March 1, 1942, in Kansas City, MO, Sharon lived a life enriched by the love she both gave and received. Sharon was the cherished daughter of the late Martin C. Huhn and Etha E. (Hawthorne) Huhn. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, George (Bill) Corben, with whom she shared 55 wonderful years of marriage. Sharon also reunites in eternal peace with her parents, siblings John F. Pace, H. Bernard Huhn, Florence Nash, Alice Justice, and Shirley Wallace, as well as her son Bill Corben and grandsons Jered Corben and Joshua Flint. Sharon's legacy lives on through her loving family: her daughter Cathleen (Cathy) Corben Flint and son-in-law Charles, her son Jeffrey Corben, her treasured granddaughter Erika Tlasek and husband Ian, and her precious great-granddaughter Ava Tlasek. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law Janet Richards Corben, sister-in-law Margaret Gondring, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who will forever cherish her memory. A proud alumna of Paseo High School in Kansas City, Sharon dedicated her life to family, community, and service. She was a respected member of the Heritage Presbyterian Church in Olathe, KS, where she found spiritual nourishment and community. Sharon's commitment to service extended beyond her church as she devoted over 20 years as a volunteer at Children's Mercy Hospital, a testament to her compassion and dedication to helping others. Sharon's vibrant spirit shone brightly through her involvement in various organizations. A devoted member of the American Business Women's Association (ABWA) for over two decades, she served as President of her chapter twice, inspiring many with her leadership and passion. Sharon was also an active participant in the Culture Club, Wisters, Bunco, and Red Hats, where she delighted in her role as Queen for several years, bringing joy and laughter to her fellow members. The Corben family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the compassionate staff at Phoenix Hospice, as well as the many friends and family who offered their support through visits and prayers during Sharon's final days. A service celebrating Sharon's life will be held on July 11, 2026. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Sharon's honor to Children's Mercy Hospital, continuing her legacy of care and kindness. Sharon's life was a testament to love, resilience, and service. She leaves behind a legacy of strength and compassion that will continue to inspire all who knew her. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends. Rest in peace, dear Sharon, knowing you were deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
