Sharon Elizabeth Hays

March 3, 1944 — May 27, 2026

Sharon Elizabeth Hays, a beloved mother, cherished grandmother, and devoted friend, peacefully passed away on May 27, 2026, at The Guest House Nursing Home in West Monroe, LA, after a lengthy illness. She was 82 years old. Born on March 3, 1944, in the quaint town of Craigville, Alabama, near Selma, Sharon was the daughter of the late Francis J. Hays and Flora E. (Betty) Moseley Hays. Sharon grew up surrounded by the love and guidance of her late parents and grandparents, Wiley R. and Flora B. Moseley, and Gabe Moss and Gertrude Campbell Hays. The values instilled in her by her family would later shape her into the compassionate and vibrant soul we came to know and love. After graduating from Ouachita High School, Sharon went on to attend Northeast Louisiana College, where she laid the foundation for a successful career in the mortgage banking industry. Her work was not just a means to an end, but a testament to her dedication and perseverance. Sharon's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with cherished memories and an unwavering commitment to her family. She was the proud mother of two children, James Randall Moore, who is married to Chad Giovingo-Moore, and Kelly Ann Choat, who is married to Jason Choat. Her family continued to grow with the addition of three treasured grandchildren, Ashley Antley Davis, married to Derek Davis; Ashtyn Antley Barrett, married to Josh Barrett; and Jackson Thad Choat. Sharon's heart was further filled with joy with the arrival of her three great-grandchildren, Briar Michael Barrett, Ruston Hays Barrett, and Garland Briggs Davis, who brought light and laughter into her life. Sharon found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life, with her greatest joy being the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her nurturing spirit extended to her beloved Aunt Sally Hays Vanderlick, and she shared special bonds with her many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. A woman of many interests, Sharon enjoyed engaging in lively games with friends at The Guest House, where her laughter and camaraderie brought warmth and cheer to all who knew her. In addition to her parents and grandparents, Sharon was predeceased by many cherished family members, but her legacy continues through the lives of those she leaves behind. A celebration of Sharon's life will take place on June 6, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, located at 300 McMillan Rd, West Monroe, LA. Following the service, a reception will be held at the Pinnacle Family Health Community Room at 101 Crosley Street, West Monroe, LA 71291, where family and friends will gather to remember and honor the remarkable woman Sharon was. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at The Guest House Nursing Home and Elara Caring Hospice for their compassionate care and support during Sharon's final days. In remembrance of Sharon Elizabeth Hays, we celebrate a life lived with grace, love, and an enduring spirit that will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.
