Sharon Ann Denson

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Sharon Ann Denson, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend. Sharon passed away on July 25, 2026, leaving a legacy of love, laughter, and resilience that will forever be cherished by all who knew her. Born on December 5, 1955, in Dallas, Texas, Sharon was the cherished daughter of Authur S. Ross and Viola (Hill) Ross. She was the youngest of a large, loving family and was predeceased by her parents and several siblings: Charles Bernard, Sam Bernard Jr., Audrey Bernard, Beverly (Bernard) and Clifton Brimmer, Sue Bernard, Leo and Glenda Bernard, and General Baker. Sharon is survived by her devoted siblings: Allen (Patricia) Bernard of Dallas, Texas, Marion (Bernard) Baker of Highland Park, Michigan, and Emmitt (Shelia) Hill of Dallas, Texas. Sharon's journey in life was beautifully intertwined with that of her loving husband, Dewayne Denson. Together, they shared more than 20 years of marriage, filled with mutual support, joy, and deep affection. She was a dedicated mother to her children, Glen (Shawn) Ross, Shelton Smith, Jr., and Shadonna Smith, all of Dallas, Texas. Sharon's nurturing spirit extended to her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. A proud graduate of Franklin D. Roosevelt High School in 1974, Sharon's career path led her to the healthcare insurance industry, where she worked diligently for over 20 years with Blue Cross Blue Shield and later with Visiting Angels. Her commitment to her work was surpassed only by her dedication to her family and her faith. From a young age, Sharon was a devoted member of the Golden Gate Baptist Church, where her faith was a guiding force in her life. Known for her infectious smile, quick wit, and unwavering honesty, Sharon had a unique ability to light up any room. Her kindness and gentle demeanor were complemented by a spirited strength that underscored her character. Sharon found immense joy in being surrounded by her family. Her warmth extended beyond her immediate family, as she embraced her nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends as her own. Known for her humor and her ability to speak her truth, she was both a gentle soul and a formidable presence when needed. In memory of Sharon Ann Denson, the family suggests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, honoring her legacy of generosity and compassion. Sharon's life was a testament to love, kindness, and resilience. She touched the hearts of many and will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
