Sharnell Williams

August 16, 1965 — March 23, 2026

We are celebrating the life of Sharnell Williams, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who peacefully departed this world on March 23, 2026, at Belton Hospital. Born on August 16, 1965, in Kansas City, Missouri, Sharnell lived a life filled with determination and love, leaving an indelible mark on those who had the privilege of knowing her. Sharnell was the beloved daughter of the late Carol Williams and Orville Scott. She was a beacon of strength and resilience, traits that were evident in her every endeavor. Her sharp intellect and unwavering determination were cornerstones of her character, guiding her through both triumphs and challenges. A proud graduate of Lincoln High, Sharnell's passion for numbers and keen analytical mind led her to a distinguished career at the Internal Revenue Service, where she served as a Certified Public Accountant. Her colleagues remember her not only for her professional excellence but also for her kind-hearted mentorship and dedication to her work. Sharnell's greatest joy, however, was found in her family. She is survived by her loving children, Makyla Williams and Marlon Williams, who were the center of her world. She also leaves behind her brothers, Dedrick and Derrick Williams, and a half-sister, whose bonds she cherished deeply. Sharnell's legacy of love and warmth continues through her four treasured grandchildren: Samaia, Martice, Marlon II, and Christian, each of whom she adored and inspired with her wisdom and gentle spirit. Outside of her professional life, Sharnell was a woman of many talents and interests. She found immense joy in sharing her culinary creations, delighting family and friends with her beloved recipes. Her green thumb was evident in her flourishing garden, a testament to her love of horticulture and crafts. Above all, she dedicated her time to nurturing and supporting her family, creating a home filled with laughter, warmth, and enduring love. As we gather to remember Sharnell, we celebrate a life beautifully lived. Her memory will be carried in the hearts of those who knew her. Her spirit will be felt in the laughter of her grandchildren, the blooms of her garden, and the cherished recipes passed down through generations. A private service will be held to honor Sharnell's life, where family and close friends will come together to share stories and celebrate her enduring legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a local community garden or charity of choice, in keeping with Sharnell's love for nature and generosity. Sharnell Williams will forever be remembered for her love, her laughter, and the profound impact she had on the lives of those around her. May she rest in peace, enveloped in the love she so freely gave.
