Born on August 5, 1980, in Houston, Texas, Sharmonquie's life was a tapestry woven with love, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her family and community.
Sharmonquie was the beloved daughter of Oscar Carter and the late Rita Young. From a young age, she was instilled with values of compassion and resilience by her parents and her cherished grandmothers, Allen Young and Novella Carter, who predeceased her. She carried these virtues throughout her life, enriching the lives of all who knew her.
A proud graduate of Klein Forest High School in 1998, Sharmonquie ventured into a career that allowed her to work from the comfort of her home, balancing her professional endeavors with her role as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was baptized in 2001 at Galilee Baptist Church, where she faithfully served as an usher until her passing, exemplifying her dedication to her faith and community.
For 13 beautiful years, Sharmonquie was the beloved wife of Stacey Diggs Sr. Their union was a testament to enduring love, built on mutual respect and shared dreams. Together, they nurtured a family filled with laughter, warmth, and cherished traditions. Sharmonquie leaves behind her beloved children, Kenneth Morris, Kenya Morris, Angel Young, and Stacey Diggs Jr., who were the pride and joy of her life. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren, Kayla Morris, Loni Morris, and Rylie Morris, whose lives she touched with her boundless love and affection.
Sharmonquie's life was enriched by her siblings, Tammy Carter, Shameran Young, Gladys Young, Shawn King, Craig Albert, Nick Albert, and Deleman Young, with whom she shared countless memories and a deep familial bond. Her extended family, including numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends, will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
A woman of many passions, Sharmonquie found joy in cooking and cherished the moments spent with her grandchildren. She delighted in family outings to the water park, where laughter filled the air, and memories were made. Her home was a sanctuary of love, where family gatherings were filled with warmth, delicious meals, and the sound of children's laughter.
The life of Sharmonquie Diggs will be celebrated on July 1, 2026, at 12:00 PM at O.W. Wiley Mortuary of Houston, located at 1290 Pinemont Dr. Family and friends are invited to join in honoring her life, sharing stories, and supporting one another during this time of remembrance.
Sharmonquie's light shone brightly, illuminating the lives of all who knew her. Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit lives on in the hearts of her loved ones, inspiring us to love deeply and live fully. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered, always.
