March 13, 1963 — April 14, 2026

With heavy hearts and profound love, we announce the passing of Shari Dawn Klingensmith, who departed this world on April 14, 2026, at the age of 63. Shari's journey began in Clinton, Oklahoma, on March 13, 1963, born to the late Ray and Kathryn Thompson. Raised with love and laughter, she grew up alongside her brother, Kent Thompson, who also preceded her in death, leaving behind cherished memories that would shape her life's story. Shari's heart was captured by James Klingensmith, and the two were joyfully united in marriage on October 13, 1995. Their union of 30 years was a testament to their enduring love and partnership. Together, they raised a beautiful family, nurturing a legacy that will continue to flourish in the years to come. Shari is survived by her devoted husband, James, who stood by her through the highs and lows of life with unwavering support. She leaves behind her beloved children, Michael Stuart and his wife Leonor of Arlington, Texas, and Amanda Patke and her husband Philip of Charleston, South Carolina. Her sisters, Lori Lax and Kelly Bleigh, along with her brother-in-law Richard, all from Arlington, Texas, will forever hold her memory close in their hearts. The light of Shari's life was undoubtedly her family, especially her treasured grandchild. She embraced her role as a grandmother with open arms and a heart full of love, creating countless memories that will be cherished forever. Education was an important chapter in Shari's life. She attended Papillion-La Vista High School, where she formed friendships and experiences that would last a lifetime. Her career path led her to the Lucky Lady Oil Company, where she dedicated 15 years of service, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends alike. Shari had a zest for life that was evident in her hobbies and interests. She found immense joy in being surrounded by her family, sharing laughter and warmth during moments both big and small. Music was a constant companion, filling her home with melodies that soothed the soul. She was an accomplished baker, delighting her loved ones with sweet treats made with love. Her affection for animals, particularly her many beloved cats, was a testament to her nurturing spirit. As we remember Shari, we take comfort in the knowledge that she has been reunited with her parents, brother, grandparents, and all those who went before her. Though her physical presence is no longer with us, her spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Shari's life was a tapestry of love, kindness, and joy, woven together by the many lives she touched. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion and warmth that will continue to inspire all who had the privilege to know her. While our hearts ache with the void her passing leaves, we celebrate the remarkable life she lived and the love she shared so generously. In honoring Shari, we are reminded of the beauty and grace she brought into the world, and it is with gratitude that we hold her memory in our hearts. A private family service will be held to honor Shari's life, where stories will be shared, tears will be shed, and the love that binds her family together will be celebrated. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a local animal shelter in Shari's name, continuing her legacy of love and care for all living creatures. May Shari Dawn Klingensmith rest in peace, forever loved and never forgotten.
